This year I got a 40" LCD TV - not bad considering I've only been there for a year. This is a small company though, and one where the PHB is actually gratefull for time and effort put in - I feel very lucky.
I'm just a little curious about what this means - is it just a red stamp? Surely it has no impact on how and where the OD format can be used.
Confused of Holmfirth
I guess it is a result of the rush to submit an article first, thus a frantic cut-and-paste job pulls the TLA out of the context in which TFA was posted, where it probably made perfect sense.
But you are not leaving a note on 'how it can be done'. You are putting a cyanide tablet in your grandmas teapot so that she pops off the vicar next time he calls.
If your web application is vulnerable to attack then I would have thought it makes no difference where that attack comes from - be it a 'real' person or a search bot. You should spend more time worrying about whether your application is secure, the how is more important than the who.
I'm not so sure.
The intent is there to commit the crime, and it's safe to assume that once the attack has taken place, the malicious user will be utilising the now open security hole for further ends.
I guess it's a bit like getting a friend to kill someone - you would still be guilty of murder - wouldn't you?
Microsoft might not personally be providing the libraries to facilitate this - but there are other 3rd party vendors who are - and Microsofts new license now legitimises these. Personally, as someone who does get paid to code, I am looking forward to implementing the ribbon in a future product.
Well, every reviewer condemned the UI changes M$ did for the new office suite.
Did they? I seem to recall that the majority of reviews (I have read) actually thought the ribbon was a bad idea, until they tried it - at which point they thought it a great enhancement in managing the function bloat.
I couldn't agree more.
When they have a few million people buying their members music, providing a few billion in revenue, a few thousands phone calls won't phase them one bit.
They are already of the opinion that the public is the enemy so no need to reinforce that belief with a pointless campaign.
Hit them where it hurts - the bottom line - and just don't buy their faulty goods.
Working as Intended

Pfftt you people just don't get it.
As a hapless musician said on Radio 4 yesterday - "it just isn't fair". You can't get a more compelling argument than that, now can you?

If the spammer in the article needs Humans to decode the captchas then he seriously needs to upgrade his software http://www.botmaster.net/pictocod/

I didn't get any of that - simply a list of videos with direct links to watch them - and this is in IE7.
I guess http://www.privoxy.org// is doing its job
What a fantastic idea - with lots of input that could become a really useful tool.

The problem is that Johnny Dope is bringing his pot back into the country when his holiday to Elbonia is over.

Want to meet up down at the mall?
I thought we had all boycotted Sony anyway! Or are we on another bandwagon this week?
"... they're effectively criminalizing the use of cellular phones" Hmmm, I'm beginning to warm to the idea.
