No. Ever since that disaster (2 years ago?), prices decreased but they never returned to normal. It just seems like manufacturers never let the prices return to their normal rates after being forced to hike them up due to the floods.
It's almost like they were given a second chance at re-pricing their goods after knowing what consumers were willing to pay.
I switched to using USB drives to install the OS of a computer a long time ago. You can even keep them up to date with OS patches unlike burnt disks. Usually installs faster too.
I recently used a USB drive as a boot-only type device to pull up the install screen, then installed all of the ports and packages over my network.
We can only hope. Recently HDD manufacturers seem to be coming up with any excuse possible to increase the price per unit and I could see them increasing the price just to lessen the blow of decreased sales.
That's the most depressing thing I've read on/. and I've read a lot of depressing things on/. and now that I think about it, that is somewhat depressing as well.
SWBFII is the closest recent game with space combat but it isn't a "space sim" like XvT or XWA. Myself and many other people have been trying to get LAG to publish a new "space sim" for a few years but apparently most people don't want to play games that involve joysticks these days.
Wow and on top of this they raise their rates by ~$2 every 6 months or so. At least in the Arizona market they have been. I'm guessting we're funding this new hinder to our service:(.
Sounds like Mars is going to be the first inter-planetary "gas station" with all that rocket fuel up there. Just a couple more decades until OPEC sends a crew up there to start mining and refining it.
What ever happened to your "don't be evil" mantra? Obviously you're dealing with a historically evil company, but don't stoop to their level.

That means prices will go down, right?

That couldn't possibly be the reason!
Maybe Windows shouldn't have so many errors (even after a clean install).
XvT remake? yes please!
I don't know about you but I'd be shooting that thing with my PP7.... silenced.
You don't need a bachelor's degree to come up with any of this shit.

We used these in middle school gym class and that was 11 years ago. No big deal at all.
FYI, we still play it and hold regular events.

Well... Bill Gates does have a lot of time on his hands now...
I thought getting Windows95 to work was the Easter egg and the blue screen was the normal UI.
Huh... you learn something new everyday.
Wouldn't you then have to devertebrate once more for it to be known as redevertebrating?
i ws gingo to ber the first psot but i cna't fnd het buottosn :(
Obviously the City of Chicago doesn't buy (or attempt to buy) many domains.
I can't wait to see how this plays out but my money is on the current owner.
That doesn't sound like anything I want to visit O_o.... Sheboygan?
That's the most interesting part for most of /.
I'm only here for the picture!

Get it while it's cheap!
I dunno... does the plastic sign run Linux?
No, he said he uses math to do it so I'm sure it's something more like...
80084 + 1 = 80085
I'd say that the SSD is most definitely NOT more power efficient than the ISD given the enormous size difference.
