Actually, I had never heard of Incredible Universe so I guess you're right, they did try. They must have been conducting business at those stores like they did at Radio Shack if they were so unsuccessful (high prices, no variety).

There is no reason for them to do this electronically, even if the computer is used for a lot of job related things, getting layed off should not be one of them. That is just a horrible way to treat your employees.

Radio Shack is like the convenience store of electronics stores anyway. The last time I shopped at Radio Shack all I saw were Robo Sapiens, R/C Dinosaurs, a limited selection of home entertainment equipment, a limited selection of land line phones and cell phones and a wall of misc crap. Nothing important to me because there is a crappy selection.

Radio Shack missed the boat in my opinion. Sure they were before their time when they first opened but by now they should have moved to warehouse-sized stores because if they had played their cards right, I'm sure they could have done it and they could be making a lot more money right now.

You can't be serious. These ideas have been reported long ago about Zune.

The funny thing is Zune can be translated from Hebrew into a vulgar English word.

Blogger "Mickeleh" saw some irony in the name Zune; In Hebrew, if you pronounce the "u" like in the word "tribune," it translates into a vulgarity beginning with "f" that means screwed, "which apparently all the vendors who followed Microsoft down the 'plays for sure' road seem to be," he wrote.
You can read the rest of the article I pulled that quote from at Zune could kill Microsoft partners, not iPod. Which I don't entirely agree with.

Sorry, that was completely ridiculous - I must be tired.

That's precisely why I asked you what you were suggesting. You told me that if I was worried about dying from a terrorist act that I should walk instead of fly. I suppose I shouldn't have assumed that you were suggesting to rid of the security precautions but that is what I assumed.

I agree that the current, temporary restrictions are indeed close to unsustainable and I would hate to have to travel to or from the UK at this time but these are the restrictions that most of the population is willing to follow them because of the recent threats. I do feel sorry for the travelers and airline companies but I'm not going to say that these temporary restrictions are ridiculous.

So what are you suggesting? Get rid of all of the security precautions at airports? If thats the case, than yes I will walk. I really don't understand how everyone gets so pissed off about having to walk through a metal detector and sometimes get wanded. I've traveled many, many times since 9/11 and I've only run into one snag - those drug detection machines (I walked through before it was done).

The first 6 months or so after 9/11 were hectic at airports - I agree - but now, the security process is just as fast as before.

Of course its a basic right, so why not just take a walk the next time you need to make a trip to the other side of the country. I don't believe walking is regulated. I also think it's a bit silly how people get annoyed because they have to wait in line longer just because there are threats of terror and waiting in line longer may save their life.

I'd also like to add, ever since 9/11 I've actually been experiencing no if not less hassle when I travel. But maybe that's because I would rather have a better chance of making it to my destination by taking off my shoes and following the temporary rules given to me than to be blown up.

What are kids going to do to increase their grammar if they can't IM their friends? Sure some will write stories, journals and poetry but that isn't going to be a majority of kids. If they aren't practicing language in one way or another than their language skills will be far worse than "tainted IM language."

This is just another case of "oh no, the internet is evil" just like rock and roll was evil in the '50s O_o (what would that be without IMing? two "O's" and an underscore?). Netspeak is almost like learning a second language, a lot easier to learn but it's more dynamic and creative than any other language that I know of and that could be because I only know a few spoken languages ;).
