I'm not a believer in many things, so call me a sceptic that has an open mind. I'm still convinced though that there is *something* paranormal at work with some people's minds.
I think this statement underscores really well how poor and deficient your critical thinking skills are. Such a glaring contradiction in the first two sentences would normally sink a post that was otherwise made intelligent points and contained useful information, but you don't even have that going for you. Instead you go on about how you do believe in things like psychics, "remote viewers," and "empaths," with some random "1 in 5 million or the like" figures pulled out of your ass. "Not a believer in many things," huh? Then you throw us a bone when you say "homeopathy" is a scam, as if it gives you street cred as a sceptic, or at least someone who isn't a total gullible loser. And at least both of us know that when you say "reputable scientist" you mean "someone who will tell me what I want to hear."
This is what happens when you drop out of college.
In my experience, people who have these beliefs aren't the Nietzschean superhumans they fancy themselves to be. Instead it's some fat guy with black fingernails hangs out at the mall and leers at the girl behind the counter at Hot Topic, some blue-collar cretin, or just someone who's been shat-on by life and copes with their failures with daydreams of separating the sheep from the goats. What's the highest level of education you've attained?
Dude you should pull your head out of your ass blah blah fucking board member blah blah nazi judge blah blah jews blah blah Just get over your self-righteous shitheadedness blah blah
Yeah, you're a moron. You're ability to copy-and-paste something from Wikipedia doesn't fool anyone.
Excellent post-hoc rationalization of the the grandparent post. You get an extra +3 Slashdot Debate Points for "Skillfully redefining one or more important terms to manufacture the truth value of an argument." Next time, I would suggest rounding out a similar post by "Constructing an analogy that's tenuously related to the point at hand." Are you good at "point-by-point" rebuttals? That's an excellent way to get Slashdot Debate Points if you're faced with a long post- just reply to each sentence, devoid of its original context.
It's not a `website for piracy`. It's a torrent tracker which is used for piracy and is used for non-piracy.
Thank you, this is a great example of the ex-post-facto reasoning and semantic nitpicks so common among the pro-pirate slashdotters. Also, the knife remark shows how easy it is to construct an analogy to support any viewpoint. Why is it so hard for you guys to honestly examine your own motives? Afraid of what you might find out? Do you have trouble looking at yourself in the mirror sometimes? Like many geeks here, you have developed a high capability for rationalization and self-delusion, to cope with the guilt over and fear of repercussions from your illegal downloading activities.
BTW. I don't speak for Slashdot, and I don't give a fuck what other posters here say or do.
Sorry Eminem, but you represent the groupthink of your fellow pirates to well for me to take that seriously.
If I had his name and address, I would have probably been a lot less gentle.
Whatever, Internet Tough Guy. You probably would have stalked him for a while, then muttered some passive-aggressive bullshit when he passed by you in a coffee shop or something. And if he heard you on accident and called you out, you would probably shake your head really fast saying "no, no, no man..." in a higher-than-your-usual-pitched voice.
I think the real question is, why you are so emotionally invested in being "right" about this, that you have to engage in these ad-hoc, ex post facto rationalizations every time someone pokes a hole in your position? Is it a form of denying guilt over your own copyright infringements, or is it some ego thing that prevents you from ever admitting that you're wrong, no matter how obvious? This doesn't just apply to you, but rather the majority of the slashdot community. Does Occam's Razor magically not apply here for some reason? Why does every pro-piracy argument here rest on some kind tiny nitpick, usually over the semantics of a word, and why does it always seem so after-the-fact when it's brought up- in the "oh this is what I really meant all along..." sense? Could Asperger's syndrome explain the slashdot community's inability for introspection??
You're not a liberal, you're a fucking judas goat- and not a very good one. For some reason you thought calling yourself 'liberal' would give you the necessary 'street cred' to get people to pay attention to some rehashed clinton conspiracy theories and OMG WELFARE QUEENS!!!!11!1l And you seem to be living in the 90's.
Well, doesn't he have a bright future? It's kind of sad most slashdot users can't even get over this tiny hurdle- even though you're all smart because you like computers or something...
Slashdot moderators love banal comments like this, that say absolutely nothing but vaguely agree with the editorial slant of the article summary. Personally, I'd be embarrassed to have a comment like yours attached to my name, but I don't come up these sorts of banalities so you probably don't have my capacity for shame. It's a shame you won't get the karma bonus when one of the mods sees your comment and mods it "insightful" while nodding his head and scratching his chin.
An off-topic affirmative action rant. Classy. Between the lines, your post boils down to: "My life is shit, and it's because of people who have a different skin color from mine." Well, let me be the first here to say that I'm glad your life sucks, and you deserved everything bad that ever happened to you. You yourself grew up thinking you could coast through life, because you were entitled to some set of privileges just for being born white, and when you grew up reality bitchslapped you. Now you've been reduced to grumbling on some online forum, but even on the internet you're too much of a pusillanimous piece of shit to say what you really mean, and resort to indirectly whining about "affirmative action" in discussion threads that you don't even belong in. You are the garbage of history, unlametheweak, and the only thing for you to do is step aside while the rest of us do our work to a create a better future- a future that has no place for you and people like you.
From now on, please place this information at the beginning of your posts, preferably in the subject line, so I know early when to stop reading. Or, better yet, GB2Reddit.
The parent comment was written by someone who will never graduate college or own a passport, and that, among many other things, makes me better than him. Enjoy your shitty life, "Fucking punkass bitch." ^_^
And who the fuck are you to tell them how to run *their* website? They can write whatever they want in their summaries, and there's nothing you can do about except get the fuck over it. I'm glad that anti-obama, pro-riaa, and anti-linux posters are silenced here. Yes, I'm glad that this site is biased, and idiots with idiotic opinions are persecuted. Have you tried digg.com? That's probably closer to your speed. Buh bye!
The only reason you don't talk about your sexual orientation is because you haven't seen a pussy since your mom squeezed you out of hers. My powers of ESP tell me you are overweight and go to junior college.

It was a rhetorical question.
I LOL'd. Fucking loser XD
Yeah, you're a moron. You're ability to copy-and-paste something from Wikipedia doesn't fool anyone.
You're not the brightest kid in the community college, are you?
I see a windfall of mod points in your future ;)

"Ad Hominem?" You aren't a furry, are you?
Speaking of the 90's, nice website.

I hate to break it to you shitface, but community college isn't really college.
I think I know which category you fall into, and I don't think it's the one you think you fall into.
Unrelated question: For how many years have you been a junior college student?
Not only is it "traditional," it's also just a website, so stop being such a fag.
These are weasel words. Have a little self respect and don't write this way. Ä

That's because in addition to being an equivocating, amoral scumfuck, you're also a little dim.
If working around your intellectual betters is hurting your pride, you can always go back to GameStop.
Actually, that's exactly what it implies.
