it's SLIGHTLY thicker than the nano (maybe by 1/8th of an inch if that), and i think it's also slightly larger in all dimensions. But it's nowhere near double the size of the nano. Honestly, it's probably the best competition (if you wanna really call it that) to the nano. Although going as far as calling it "nano killer" or something of that nature...i seriously doubt. It's hard to stop a train like that.

Woah! Hey! I wasn't trying to start an Xbox sucks, PS3 rules debate here. I was just stating that i would expect such an adapter to come with a $600 premium system. I can see leaving it as an optional accessory for the lower priced version. Now my personal opinion (if you must know) is i like the Wii. I currently don't own ANY consoles (PC gamer here) but have thoroughly enjoyed the PS2, Xbox 360, and even the Gamecube. As for the next gen systems, my roommate has the Xbox360 for which i see it as a good step above the original xbox. I've never thought of the PS2 as an exceptional system ONLY because i am not impressed at all by the graphics. Although recent games have done much better (God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, etc) I know PS3 will be much better in that area. The next system that will be on my shelf is the Wii. But back on subject... the Xbox360 was in no means cheap, but sony is taking the cake for expensive consoles this year.

Let me get this straight...for $500 i get the base PS3. For $600 i get the "upgraded" model and STILL can't import older PS2 game files without buying an adapter. How much is sony going to charge for that? $50 for the basic curcuit board and $60 for the full model with plastic casing.

Good point. I didn't think of online vendors. I do live rather close to a selection of stores so for my personal use, a 2 minute car ride is much less of a hassle than a 2-3 business day wait. But i do understand not everyone has access to these stores like that were amazon would be just as convenient as running to the store. And as i said before, mac can have the latest and the greatest....just have to bootcamp to windows. Also half those games i listed aren't the latest and greatest. Anyways, back to my original point (pcs aside), The Wii has all those features the article describe about macs, plus more. Obviously macs can do much more than a Wii (games aside also). As far as i see macs with gaming (non boot camping) is picking up random games that do decent on the PC. I also have yet to see a decent mac exclusive game (except that marble game...pretty entertaining during work). If they do have a nice mac exclusive game, please let me know.

  18. Re:Worse than the average PC maker? on MacBook Users Fix Trackpad Problem with Origami Paper · · Score: 1

yes it would be a hassle to get a big mac if they only had 1 or 2 mcdonalds in each major city and whoppers were in almost every food store. It doesn't have to say PC in the store name for you to find pc games. Best buy, circuit city, etc all carry pc games and very little mac games. Every (decent) mall has a EB or the like. The only place i've seen an acceptable amount of Mac games is mac stores and compusa. (i've never been in a mac depot but i'm assuming they also have a decent selection too) Also when i am in a bestbuy/equivelent, i can safely assume it runs on pc, i don't have to look for a pc logo. Same thing for any console. You're local walmart has pc and console games. Also you miss out a ton of great games such as Battlefield 2, Half life 2, age of empires III, etc. At least you do have Call of Duty and UT2k4.

  20. Re:Interesting choice... on Xbox 360 Wins Through 2009? · · Score: 1, Troll

I'd have to agree that the console is MUCH easier to maintain than an average PC. Big point being: Software developer know EXACTLY what hardware you are running in your console. PC software has to work with almost ALL hardware out there. The developers don't know if you're running an ATI or nvidia card, how much ram you have, what software you are already running, etc. That's why every once in awhile, a computer game just won't work and you have to do some digging to get it to work.

If you have problems like that with a console, the company has no excuse. Give them a call and they should work it out.

Granted, IF you do have a problem on the console, it's VERY difficult to fix yourself. Rather with the pc, usually it's easier to dig up the solution yourself.

Reason I'd take the PC over a console any day is the variety and control of the games. There are TONS of games for the PC and they rarely get to a point where you phyiscally can't play them anymore. (Example: try to play the original zelda on a stock gamecube). The other thing is the mouse. I have MUCH more precise control with a mouse than any gamepad/stick/controller. Halo is quite popular because they almost a perfect balance of control with the current xbox controller. It works like it should. Bad example: Perfect Dark Zero. I hate playing the game because the controls are out of wack. It seems like it'd be a good game but i can't stand playing it.

Wii has a new approach and if it works good, i should be able to teach myself a new precise way to move and aim. Granted i'll have to train myself to use it, but it just seems fun.

The games look interesting, the innovative controls sound fun, and for less than $250, you can't afford not to get one. With other next-gen systems being at least double to almost triple the price...i don't see why the Wii wouldn't be right up there with the 360 and PS3. The only one i see as lagging behind is the PS3 only because of the pricing. After seeing PS3's launch price, i decided i could get addicted to the new Smash Bros and actually be able to eat food for the next month.
