  3. Re:conservation of energy on Nanotech Battery Claims to Solve Electric Car Woes · · Score: 1

The point is electric cars are far more efficent. Something like 5X more efficent than a gas engine. Even if you had to use petroleum for the power plants and allowed for line loss there's still going to be a drastic reduction in CO2 released. When you consider you need a 1/5 of the power then alternative methods get interesting.

Nuclear isn't a magic bullet and we all end up paying for the clean up since power companies would prefer the government deal with the mess. Just because nuclear doesn't release CO2 doesn't mean it's clean. It's not just the fuel rods there's contaminanted water and other wastes that need to be stored. Remember you don't have to bury a coal fired plant when it's decommissioned. I don't like coal either. If the CO2 could be stored it is safer although there are bigger threats that also need to be removed like mercury. Coal plants are the primary source of mercury in the environment.

Posting episodes before they air has to be coming from their end so they have the right to locate and fire/prosecute the source. It has nothing to do with fair use it has to do with protecting their work. Advertisers can potentially cut funding and kill the series if they don't defend it. Youtube really has no choice since they'd be protecting the thief. Supporting the people involved harms those supporting fair use since it appears they are supporting outright thieft. Each of their characters are trademarked but not the term in any fashion. It's debateable if the term can be in of itself be trademarked at this point. He was trademarking some things at the time and I know he was tempted to establish a "Superhero" trademark but it would mostly be a logo trademark.

No one is disputing the CO2 spike is manmade. All the other factors are within normal levels and would not account for an unpresidented spike in CO2. If he was working for corporate america he'd claim Spotted Owls were causing the CO2 and cutting down the forests would reduce the number of the little CO2 machines. No reputible sources are disputing global warming and that humans are the cause. The only issues are how bad it'll be and if it can be stopped. If you notice our flipflopping President quitely acknowledged global warming and that we are the cause. Amazing the press gave him a pass on this since he went from saying global warming wasn't proven to accepted science overnight with zero fanfare. If CO2 levels are any indication we are in for a rough ride. I hate to break it to the flat earthers but there is a well established correlation between CO2 levels and temperature. If CO2 levels are even close Florida may be the first state in the union to give fish the right to vote.

Both Tiger and Leopard have new features many of which don't exist in the Windows world. It's debateable how many new features will be added in the next Windows release and yet there's little doubt there will be new features in the follow up OSs out of Mac. Windows really isn't trying to compete on features they are largely trying to play security catch up. It's not a troll it's a simple fact. Mac still won't replace Windows but they are starting to get like apples and oranges comparing them. The primary benefit to Windows is software and hardware availibility selection. If you want lots of user oriented features Mac wins hands down.
