Inkscape has great tools to handle vectors. It could work as a part of gimp, sure, but gimp doesn't currently have the tools to do it as good as inkscape.
I quickly realized that if you wanted to be in the top 500 players on a server of about 1500 active players you HAD to buy and use gold or else there was no way to keep up.
I play DDO for free and having fun. Reason is, the PvE content is good enough solo (or with a friend) that I don't have this need to be the top 500 player...
To be fair, people say the same thing about any hobby. Stamp collectors, model airplane builders, open source developers are all told to get a life by people who don't particularly like their hobby.
Scientologists themselves don't know how that e-meter works. I know because I've been "audited", or whatever they call it when they're trying to convert you.
Me: "So, how does it work?" Xenuist: "It works on energy." Me: "Yeeahhhhh, like what?" Xenuist: "On emotional energy."
It's funny.
Still, I'm worried that the Church of Scientology is getting that access because it has a bad record. Who knows, they may track people down? Delete auctions for various anti-scientologist stuff? (Dunno, pepper spray or holy water or something) I'm not sure just how substantial it is, but I'm a bit worried.
Just waiting for Yahoo to make a slight change...

Yahoo CAPTCHA Hacked

Wouldn't it be funny? Yahoo makes a slight change to their capcha - Russian hackers go "DOH!" and their awesome code doesn't work anymore.
Still, good job they did there. Even I as a human (I'm also partly cyborg by the way) have a hard time deciphering that silly CAPCHA.
I think what we're really missing here is that Australian aboriginals have strict and complex kinship systems, their rituals are often secret, and they still have this scar from anthropologists exposing their secrets.
So this system works for them. It may look stupid to a westerner (TM) since usually when we do stuff like "women can't do X, men can't do Y" we're just discriminating. This in to exactly the case here, as it's more to do with secret rituals you're not supposed to know.
Do I like it? Not really. Still, it works for them.
(By the way, I may be a bit wrong, but you get the point)
Dunno, I'm thinking more about the aspect of this ban.. uhm... I have a skirt or two and an eyeliner. One of the major reasons why I'm leaving home so soon is because my mom called me a tranny.
Yes, if I'm willing to leave home because of something like that, I'd be more than willing to leave a game for similar reasons.
I roleplay on world of warcraft, pretty much all my characters are female - unlike me. Here's the thing, I roleplay. I went on roleplayed dates, I get looks, the whole thing, etc.
It happened once actually, that somebody got a little, uhm... disappointed by my being male. But really, his problem was mostly not being able to separate in-character decisions and feelings and out-of-character considerations.
My brother, who also RPs (though he's not a cross dresser like me, and I'm pretty sure he's hetero), has a female character or two - he went on one date, with a player who turned out to be a 12 year old male. When asked out-of-character, whether he really was female, he honestly answered, "no." Being 12 years old, the guy went hysterical. Welcome to the wonderful world of roleplaying, if you can't stand the players being something you don't like, don't roleplay.
There's probably a pretty good chance some of my RP-friends are guys I'm not too likely to be good friends with, but hey, as long as they roleplay properly - I don't see the problem.
People should be allowed to play as what they want and/or feel comfortable playing, what kind of silly thing is that, I mean... I just hope they don't institude the same policy in WoW..
It's sort of useful if you want it. Suppose you're allergic to peanuts? Add the USE flag "-peanuts" to your USE and you're peanut-free.... until your system breaks, if you're in ~arch.... assuming your CPU has time to display other characters on the screen while compiling 50 packages.

I'd much rather control my own machine

The machine isn't supposed to think much about anything, it's just supposed to let me use what I want and that's it. Anything else would be plain annoying. What if in this specific video editing session I'm expecting an email from my secret lover on the side or I don't know what?
First of all, vista is fugly. From the demos I've seen it's just the same XP toyish looking interface with a few new space consuming additions. You can't possibly compare it to OS X's elegance.
Perhaps big OEMs will try to make their mchines look better now that MS really wants that, but the smaller OEMs, which are the majority of OEMs and usually the kind of stuff that people buy most of the time, only consider price as a factor and if it can look OK while fulfilling that purpose, so be it.
Surcharges also "insure" airlines from fuel prices going up and down without having to revise their price lists.
I don't know much about ocean freight, but that's the way it works here.
And pirates don't have helicopters... yet.
"what do you want to do with your computer?"
"A whole lot of porn."

I too verify that porn runs fine on Linux.

Killing them and their friends isn't, though.

I have a better idea... how about we just... give everyone free education?
That's what they do here in Denmark. Suppose, "I want to go study X at Foobar U" the Danish government will:
a. Pay your tuition.
b. Under certain conditions, GIVE you money.
No matter WHAT you choose to study.
Good idea, no? I can tell you I'm thankful for that.
Also, there's still one better way. Leaving a comment on their MySpace. Should persuade anyone.
With Dell it's always partaaaah tiiiiime! Woohoo.
N.B. I bring the chips, you bring the booze.
Kill me, but doesn't MS own MSN?
In that case, could MS be planting articles intentionally to divert attention away from the $100 lappy, which will run a Linux based OS?
Wow! Vim is becoming almost as good as Emacs!

So, anyone managed to run Linux on it yet? ^_^
