How would you feel about drug dealers when your child gets addicted to hard drugs because of them ? And eventually your child gets in more trouble and ends up dead ? Are you going to be so forgiving to the drugdealers then ?

I don't care if you grow your own pot , and smoke some every now and then , and i think the police doesn't care that much it either.
But if you make money from selling drugs to minors , then you belong in jail , and if were Blizzard , i would do the same thing and help the police in any way i can.

A delay is indeed useful in letting people determine there viewpoints , and this thus shapes the majority and minorities .

In a sense you could say that this delay is needed , so a real majority can form , rather than a minority controlling the majority ( for instance , in the case of a tragic event , they can use the emotions of the people , to get them to decide on things they normally never would ( like some measures against terrorism ) .

In hindsight , it would have been better had i started with C++ and then moved on the Java. The Basic language seems so useless to me now . Then again it was easy to create some fun graphical effects with it ( putting dots and lines in various colors on the screen , etc ... ) . But you can probably do that in C++ was well .

So i would go for C++ , though i remember the syntax ( the for in particular ) being frightfull at first . It's good for learning the basics though.
