Walk around Apple, and you see the real hardware work - schematic capture, PCB layout, mechanical engineering - all done on Windows. Sure, it's Bootcamp on Apple hardware, but OSX doesn't support a single professional package needed to actually ENGINEER their hardware products...
The Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental advocacy group, and Statista recently teamed up to analyze the EIA's predictions for energy usage and production. They found that the EIA's 10-year estimates between 2006 to 2016 systematically understated the share of wind, solar and gas. Solar capacity, in particular, was a whopping 4,813% more in 2016 than the EIA had predicted in 2006 it would be.
I see that capacity word in there. Solar generation is less than 1% of total US power generation (lagging behind biomass, and not even 7% of all renewables). Methinks protesting about errors in estimates about capacity, rather than looking at the accuracy of projections of generation, is a big red herring. My bank account has the capacity to hold hundreds of billions of dollars! Unfortunately, the generation side isn't quite so endowed with zeros...
There are plenty of ways to make things water tight. However, said things tend to be stationary and without rotational/moving bits on them. Thus even ships need bilge pumps to deal with leakage around the prop shaft - and those seals are really well developed over a hundred plus years...
Huh, I wanted to impeach Obama because he constantly issued unconstitutional executive orders and used the powers of the Government to politically attack his opponents. His skin color had nothing to do with it.
Check the dates of the articles. Yours are from May 2017. Mine is from July 2017. Oh, and mine mentions the earlier cut that you reference. Yes, China cut the number they're building - and they're STILL building 700 more coal plants.
You need to learn to read better. TFS says "hundreds", not "hundred", and in the article it states:
Workers estimated between 400 and 700 employees have been fired. Tesla refused to say how many employees were let go, although the company expects employee turnover to be similar to last year’s attrition.
So that's around 4%. Not huge - but probably more related to TSLA continuing to lose money.
No see, we only talk about emissions in terms of per-capita when it makes the US look bad. When per-capita can make the US look good, we just talk about total, cumulative numbers. The guiding principle is that under no circumstances can we allow the US to look good.
China is building 700 coal plants, with 80% of the energy generation capacity within China. And that's just in the next few years. I guess when China deploys an order of magnitude more power generation as coal rather than wind or solar it's considered a "clean energy win"?
Well, it can definitely work for everyone - it seemed to do so just a few years ago. If you're concerned about the overarching reach/tracking of Facebook - then get off of it. It's not the "kiss of death/must-have-website" that most make it out to be. But like all addictions, it probably is really hard to give up...
Yes, I know lots of Facebook users! And yet, I have a perfectly fine social life without Facebook. I use the phone app on my phone, and don't have a problem organizing parties and such without the use of Facebook. As far as those old connections - I tend to let the old ones become old because I really don't want to socialize with those people anymore. Quality over quantity, perhaps?
Cool. Then do a group. People can mark if they attend. No need for ANY personal information or even an FB account, other than the generic account for the group, right? Why do you need a full online social media presence?
Hey, leave Sarah out of this! I know you want to plow her, but there is another story on/. front page about Facebook and sex workers, go plow one of them...
Unless the jet stream reversed course, I believe people should move to the WEST coast. Ash and fallout will mainly head East, like it did when Mt. St. Helens blew. Western Washington for the most part was spared; Seattle and Tacoma completely untouched. Eastern Washngton got hammered. This jetstream is also why Yellowstone going is so bad - it will blanket our "breadbasket" midwest with ash. If the volcano was on the East coast, most of the fallout would end up in the Atlantic ocean, not on land...
SONOS sells about 1 million (yes, 1,000,000) wireless speakers a month, and they are around $300-$500 each. That is the number one home audio speaker brand in the world - by number of units AND revenue. Seems a lot of the public buys speakers at that price point...
Hmmm... Did Ireland or Luxembourg say Amazon wasn't paying its taxes? Seems to me that Amazon had an IRISH or LUXEMBOURGIAN subsidiary, and those nations were fine with what was being paid. But the bureaucrats in Brussels didn't like it... IF there is an issue, it's between Ireland and Luxembourg and the EU - not the company. Brussels just wants the cash, that's all.
Can you at least put that in useful units, like Libraries of Congress per fortnight?

So, what you're saying is that Trump is culturally appropriating from the Oompa Looompas and thus is racist...
Because the left values the color of the skin more than the content of the character. It's the easiest way to classify, isolate, and divide people.

Maybe the GP understands an ACTUAL social life involves more than posting selfies and cat videos...

Belgian, Luxembourgian, and German auto dealers on the Dutch border are acquiring more land to expand operations!
Dark matter comes from the dark side. It is pure evil in a can. On Earth, it is also pickled and then known as lutefisk.

What "subsidies" to oil/gas companies get that other companies do not get?
Listen to music? About 8 hours a day.
Translations in the last two weeks? A few dozen (China, Malaysia). These would be awesome to have just for the translation capabilities.
