Probably because you block ads, therefore preventing the ad hosting companies from developing a history of your browsing habits with which to create better targeted content.

I'm not buying that, it is not hard for a site to get advertisements that are relevant to their readers.

Hell, this is something even slashdot gets right. Almost all of the advertisements on slashdot are geek related in some way, generally advertising enterprise software of various sorts or whatever. Slashdot also lets certain registered users disable viewing ads, I haven't seen an add on slashdot in months and I generally do not use an adblocker.

No, this is hearing. Televisions make a very high-pitched noise that only some people are capable of hearing, this is a widely understood phenomenon. I myself can often hear electronics like this, and in some situations it is outright painful.

If you were to wrap one of those televisions with a grounded fine metal mesh then you would still hear it, because it is not EMF radiation that is the issue.

What about bit vs. byte? The lowercase "b" sometimes means bytes, sometimes bits.

Where does 'b' mean byte? I have never seen that in literature, and the only times I've seen it written in conversations it can generally be attributed to laziness, often accompanied by a lack of capitalization at all.
