We can only hope that all the ones doing the hacking are Democrats!!! I don't care if Hillary becomes president, as long as no one as DUMB as Bush gets re-elected!!!
Sufice it to say, any VOIP connection requires an IP connection...right, hence the name, Voice Over IP?!?!? Let's see...The company I work for uses VOIP for interoffice/site to site phone calls, and all internal phone communications. If you did not own the goddamn network, you would require a goddman internet connection, right? Go grab your sack, and try to feed someone else that pile of shit that is coming out of your mouth!!
Comcast BLOWS!! I had them for a year, and a good 6 months of that, the line was either down, or I was having a 10-30 second delay when requesting a friggin webpage!!! I called their "Tech SUpport" and they would have me reboot my modem, and my computer...then, they would proceed to ask me to click on start, and go to control panel...Let's see...where does GNOME hide that pesky Control Panel again?!?!? Come to find out, it was bad cable, after 6 fucking months of this, it was a bad cable...you get the idea, right?!?!? Fuck Comcast!!
I think they are just going to take all the internals out, and put them in a new case, and sell a $150 computer!!! Oh, and they will of course farm support for those computers out to freaking North Korea or something...
It might be "Like Linux" but it is not Linux, it is BSD. People need to get there facts straight. Just because you can run KDE or Gnome on it as a desktop, and it runs apache does NOT make it Linux.
I purchased a Plasma tv (42") and it has a 20,000 hour gaurentee against burn in...in other words, you could run the stock ticker on CNN for 20,000 hours before it would burn in, or if it did, I get a new one! Put that in your LCD and smoke it!
Uh...You would be suprised about how in demand this "Set of Skillz" is right now!!! No, I do not have it, I depend on knowledge and know how when it comes to this kind of thing:o)
Yeah?...No Shit? So, if you do the latest security updates, this work will not be able to get to you? JEEEEZUS! That is the whole problem. The goddamn security patch just came out on Tuesday, how many companies do you think have patched?
All the brain trust on Slashdon? I would venture a guess, and say that there are at least 50 or 60 people on slashdot who have predicted more about the computer industry, and more correctly that Mr. Dvorak. Anyone can take a guess about where things are headed, but it takes someone who either spends ALL their time researching this kind of thing, or someone who reads slashdot on a regular basis, and pays attention to what they read.
I would like to see a new section setup on this site to allow people to make predictions about the future of PCs, as well as IT in general. Do you see that as something that would add value to this site? I do!!
Yes, LLPs operate in this manner as well, and as long as they remain small, it is fairly effective. The guy up towards the top of the comments is very correct, some succeed, and some fail. Generally, it all boils down to business sense, not who you answer to, or what demands are put on the company by outside forces. If your CEO is a smart guy/gal, they will succeed.
All browsers have issues...evidence that by the latest rounds of FireFox vulnerabilities. I DO use Firefox at home, but at work I *HAVE* to use IE. I work in Security and provide the latest vulnerability research on M$ products, and let me tell you, they are comparable in that areana. It boils down to what you like, and what you want your experience to be, I want my viewing pleasure to be through FireFox.
I know when I want to make a point, I tend to exagerate...Like saying "Damn, That sandwich was the best one I ever had", or WOW! That was the best looking penis, er, I mean...Never mind.
A-muthafuckin-Men!!! I run several flavors of Linux, and it seems that I am typing apt-get in a rpm environment, and rpm in an apt-get environment all the dang time! Maybe something called Install...Then I could just log into any box, and type exactly what I mean...like scot@scottsbox$> Install Firefox. and Just have it go at it. I also love online repositories, if you can just type in install and it goes and finds it, that would be friggin' awesome! Can you tell I am kinda partial to Debian based distros?:o)
WOW! Nice. I had not heard of those. I am going to give them a shot right now! I have been using the ndiswrapper for so long, I have not kept up on newer happenings I guess.

That is some funny stuff...I am a treky, but when something is funny, you just have to laugh!
If only a company who makes GOOD graphics cards would do the same!
That would explain my 18 year old son, who comes out of his room long enought to take Ibuprophen, and eat...
Weak Sauce...
Yes, and it is those of the previous generation who have NO degree who now REQUIRE one from us underlings!!!
I heard he has AIDS. All those years of illicit drug use, and what not.
NO.
GEEK!!!...Oh, wait, Like you didn't know that :o)
I just love this stuff!!! This is to me, what a good Duff is to Homer Simpson!!!

For the same reasons some of us watch for the next Linux distro/new stuff for our favorite OS...We are ALL SUCKERS for something :o)
