Uh...I think you need to visit www.ibm.com and take a look around...Don't they own BLotus Notes, and maybe a little java based web server, and let's see....you get the idea.
Well...You would think it was already available...eDirectory (NDS) has been available for Linux/Solaris for quite a long time...in looking at my cd collection just now, I have a copy that ran on Caldera Linux from back in 1999.
I agree with the guy up there...Linux is already a cash cow...Look at how many companies who make software that runs on Linux are very prosperous, and look at Novell...They have been around a long time, and they plan on being here much longer, hell, I love most of their software, it has a place, and as long as they keep up with the market, and know where to put the software, they will keep a strong customer base.
That said, I know several companies who are already running their enterprise Linux, with Netware services and LOVE it!!
Yes, Linux will continue to proliferate the enterprise, and as long as companies like Novell are pushing it, it will get there relatively fast.
The END in Near! I can see it now...Robots running amok, pulling the heads off of small furry creatures, killing babies, mameing everything in there path, then, BSOD.
I totally agree with living anonymously! If not for having to work for a living, I would live in some very small south pacific village, and change my name to Al, or something simular!
Why could these guys not had this a few years back when I owned a WISP?!?
Just goes to show you, timing is everything. With the improvements in Wireless, and the accompanying hardware/tools, it seems that more people will be using it for commercial implementations.
My Space is a complete cluster fuck, not only does it encourage 14 year olds to think they are webmasters, but it encourages kids to do this kind of shit, it should be shut down. Do I blame them for what happened? Hell NO!! However, someone up the line a ways, said it perfectly...the girl was 14 years old, and she has very limited world experience, PARENTS, PAY ATTENTION TO WTF YOUR KIDS ARE DOING ON THE FUCKING INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!
How has anyone faired using Postfix/Cyrus (or insert other imap here)? I used it for a 25,000 customer ISP, and it barely ever hit over 25% on a quad proc system that was clustered (2).
I actually posted a story about AT&T changing their Privacy Policy, and THIS SHIT gets published, and my story is rejected?!?!?!?!? WTF are the editors fucking, er, I mean Thinking???
I don't care what ANY large company says, they are in the business to make money for both their Upper management, and their stockholders. IBM, Sun, Cisco, etc...All of them are saying something about opening up their source in one way or another, but in the end, they are doing so, because they have some grand scheme about how it is going to make them profit in the end.
Underpants Gnome theory, Step#3 - Profit.
There was an article posted here last week about how Bank of America was outsourcing IT positions, and making the employees being replaced train the Indian/whoever replacements.
I emailed BofA, and asked them why they would give away all of my financial and personal information...There response, was...To make money for us, and our stock holders...it all comes down to some douche bag in an ivory tower making decisions based on how much he wants his bonus to be this year.
Try this one... It is more believable.

Netscape has never really been something that could compete with anything!! They owned the Internet at one time, and the first challange that came along, put them in the grave. How do they think that using the name Netscape is going to make some once great browser into the next great news site?
Slashdot has me, all day, everyday, they for sure can not compete with this place...I personally have tried Digg a couple of times, and think it sux!
It is no wonder Vista is a kludgfest! This guy sounded like if he had a consistant thought process, it might throw him into a fucking coma!! That was harder to read than a chinese newspaper.
True, either that, or some shitty .asp search engine that could not intelligently search for poo in a pile of it!

Haven't used it. I did do a 5.3mhz shot that was 29 miles tho, and it was doing about 20 mbit both ways.
