i'm running Debian Sarge + fluxbox on a p100 laptop with 16mb RAM, and it works just fine. Sure, it takes like a minute to boot it, but it runs just fine. So maybe you're right.. the system runs a 2.4 kernel.
hahaha. keep the iron fist clenched in 10 years and see how it goes. Totalitarian parenting is fine while the kids are too young to think for themselves. After that, you're in for a moutful. And boy am i happy your not my parents, i think my parents are psycho (i'm 28 now) but you my friend.. you take the prize. Ever heard about trust?
the easy solution to this problem is: before you go to the store, you check if the printer you intend to buy is supported by CUPS, otherwise you pickup another one, or install windows.
that wont happen.. and even if all trees were burned, and coal mined, we could always use sodium hydroxide to grab CO2 from the air, and convert it to pure carbon.
as a matter of fact, the same stance he takes, is what the scientific field takes on oil production, just google Peak Oil, and see what you come up with. Scarcity will drive prices, until they are replaced. And i for one don't worry too much about the copper, as in ten or fifteen years, we will probably see that replaced by carbon nanotubes.
in socialist Sweden, we have shitloads of examples of government owned monopolies doing very well, and when they got sold out to the private sector, all of a sudden they start effing people over for profit. The electricity market is a very good example of this.
i hope that you're joking since a freezer/fridge outputs more heat on the warm side, than it draws on the cold side, i.e. to open a freezer to get the room colder is a really bad idea, since it would actually make the room warmer.
yeah, and it's what happens when 67 people decided not to go vote, because they had more important stuff to do, like finding lint in the bellybutton or something, one fifth of Riksdagen (the ruling organ) decided not to even show up and vote. It's a slap in the face of the public..
unfortunately, the same goes for Sweden, and many people are of the opinion: "but they're only chasing criminals, and i'm not a criminal, so it doesn't affect me" , and this is where the big problem is. They pulled through a law on wiretapping, which has been forbidden, under the same motivation.
and you know what the irony of it all is? i voted for this block, just to keep this from happening. Because the old block had began to trod this dangerous path. isn't it ironic?
almost correct, it was a police who was heavily involved in the investigation, and it wasn't illegal, they had a warrant. However they seized not only TPB servers, but several others.
i probably need to get out my reading glasses, you since parent clearly stated that the Fischer-Tropsch process was used to make gasoline.
On a side note, one thing that seems feasible (if we solve the corrosivity issues) is Steam reforming of biomass to methanol, which is an exothermal process.
Fischer-Tropsch can be used to make gasoline also (and was used to make gasoline in SA), but as you say, however it's not energy efficient, and i hardly believe that this process is either.
on a sad note neither is Bio-Butanol at the moment (i am currently doing a study on this, and it doesn't look good, at all.)
and btw.. someone please mod parent up, this is the most Insightful post in this tread.
this year, my school switched from office 200x to Office 2007, and i actually think that this is the first thing MS got right, from my perspective, after a few hours, you find your way around it, and it's alot faster to do scientific papers in the new version than in the old ones.
at home i use OpenOffice, and i think it still has a far way to go. (atleast when it comes to writing equations and stuff, i guess i should switch to latex)
actually, you find this in Sweden also.. me thinks this is a global problem.. but other than that, you're dead on!
but Ubuntu as of today, is pretty straight forward, and a clean install should work for someone who doesn't need all the bells and whistles..
and if you do, you can always read the howtos..
actually, no, and the target temperature is 1.9 K

but good luck with running a 2.2 kernel on a system installed with 2.4 packages.. :D

i must inform you that Putty is still at 0.6, and it's a fine suit, which i use every day at work.
yeah.. but life is seldom the cause of death.. at least not in the coroners handbook.. leading a hard life however.. ;)
"here, you might need a lookingglass"
k is an arbitrary constant, to clarify that. but yes your statement is correct. :)

because the atomic mass unit U is defined from the thesis that 1 mole of Carbon atoms weighs in at 12 grams.

use HP LasetJet 4 ppd , works like a charm on OS/400 with the Optra S - series..
