i have the same problem, but this is a gnome/kde problem, and has nothing to do with the speed of the computer, which has been constantly deteriorating, or rather, applications seemed to execute just as fast back in 99 as they do now, and even though the hardware is a lot faster, the software is a lot slower.
the distilled water will not lead to oxidation, tap water will though, as there's way less ions in distilled water, the likelihood of oxidation is very small.
interesting, however implausible, since they would produce low-grade heat, that would require the use of a heat-pump to reach required temperatures. This is not economic, and most paper factories (in Sweden atleast) just dump all water below 60 degrees C in to the river.
i did as you suggested in the Swedish Election, and the result was that now i'm seriously b*tf*cked by my government (who i voted for), as they introduced two new laws, which they claimed they were against before the election.
The laws are FRA-lagen (which means that the military intelligence listens to all net and phone traffic in and out of Sweden)
and now, they're going to hunt pirates, after claimin pre-election "We're not gonna turn a whole generation into criminals".
so if i'd voted for the Pirate Party, and they'd got into the government, none of these laws would pass.
yeah.. me too, so i started looking, and a lot of the guys who received nobel prices in physics, got it for discoveries i for one consider chemistry.. such as Rayleigh, Pauli, and some others. so i guess it evens out, and besides, there's no price for biologists. and as some wise cartoonist once put it, Biology is just applied physics http://xkcd.com/435/
not so much for visual/aural effects as for traction, or rather, the traction control works in different ways in different cars, but in most cases it doesn't send the power to the driving wheels, hereby enabling them to gain traction again. In a drag race however, a little bit of slip is alot better than loosing the power to gain grip, which is the reason for turning it of. Please note that i do not condone parking-lot drag races, but doing it on drag strips can be quite entertaining.
yeah, but if you've ever watched the output from a GC-MS where you've used a sample of Lagavulin, you'd clearly see that there are several alcohols in it, including methanol.
The scrubber uses Sodiumhydroxide and Calciumhydroxide that are circulated and regenerated in the process. The power demand comes from separating the CO2 from the CaCO3 back into Ca(OH)2.
But you are correct in the fact that this would require maintenance, since there's no such thing as maintenance free pumps.
However i still feel if this could be a good solution, if it's cost and energy efficient, and being financed by carbon-taxing, and last but not least, F/OSH (free/opensource hardware).
fallout 2 had this, very you could get hurt in different parts, affecting you in different ways, and the same went for the enemies, hope for some of those goodies in fallout 3 also.
it's going to be a good game year, and a bad school year..
Apparently not TOO much, since Ericsson and Sony Ericsson both do code audits, with senior programmers questioning every single line of code. (Yes, i have friends who work there)
it's analog in the sense that it's not a IC controlling the output from the joystick, but digital in the sense that it was all or nothing. Therefore called digital. (1 or 0)
i can tell you since Sweden went from state monopoly on electricity, to multiple companies, and selling current in and out of Sweden, prices has more than doubled. This is typical right-wing propaganda. Well let me tell you, State Monopolies are bad, private Oligopolies are worse!
seriously, not all features are for everyone. I might use a feature which you don't. and i sure as h*ll don't use compiz.

and this will probably be of some benefit to Microsoft, since playing well with other operating systems must always be an advantage.
but it still works quite well, since 1C == 1K
and i really cringed when i read the 100 times colder crap. Seriously, if it's at 0.03 K why not just say that?

this seems to have changed in later versions of the linux kernel, and in earlier, there was ntfs-write support, with the EXPERIMENTAL warning.
out of curiosity, do you have a ball park figure of just how much of the surface would be covered by these fins to achieve this increase?
except that this measure would be completely pointless, since the heat lost from earth is radiated, as there is no convection/conduction in a vacuum.

why not? in china they put melamine in the milk.

either that, or the sarcasm in his tone totaly went above you..
which could be done relatively easily with a GC-MS and some internal standard..

just one example, i guess you can find more if you care to look.
Waterboarding is definately classed as torture in the civilized parts of the world.
