    Let's say I bought a piece of software that worked great, the company closes their doors or the developer dies... should I be deprived the use of said application I paid for and still works for what I need because the developer hasn't submitted a bug fix in 12 months?

  3. Considering that Doom 3 natively supported Linux and Mac, the premise of it running on another *nix variant with some extra libraries for cross platform compatibility doesn't mean much to me.

    All those signs say "texting while driving is dangerous and illegal". Where are all the signs saying "playing Candy Crush Saga while driving is dangerous and illegal" or the "playing Fallout 4 with the Vault Builder expansion pack while driving is dangerous and illegal"? This sounds like a failure on the part of a Department of Transportation Marketing Person to me.

If I would have known that I could obtain a bachelors degree in only 3 years... oh wait, I already did that by doing 18-21 credit hours a semester instead of the usual 12, otherwise known as benefitting from the fact that credits per dollar in that range reduced the cost of my education. Silly me for caring about my education's cost instead of viewing it as a time to goof off.

    I look at it like //most// crowdfunding campaigns... it will probably end with someone running off with the money and those who fronted the money ending up with nothing, or at best a picture of someone sitting on the beach.

    Satellite Imagery is regularly edited to obscure sensitive information before uploaded to Google Earth.

    You're implying that they are offering preferential treatment at others expense... how could giving away your pet service for free to whomever will listen, or other incentives like free travel and ice cream to motivate people to play possibly be deemed preferential?

    The problem here is that people with an existing and loyal fan base who trusted and respected them decided to create said gambling platform and mislead their viewers to believe they "found it" versus "founded it" and were using it to win money. As such, there might be a case of fraud (in the literal letter of the law) by anyone who acted upon said claims by these YouTubers.

    I get that math is scary, but do we really need to subpoena someone who knows how to effectively calculate mirror images? Surely this is an overreach of their power and they could find a local math professor if they truly have no one on salary who has taken an intro to calculus course.

    The person in question is a composer. Further a large amounts of their music is in wav versus compressed audio formats to serve as a master of their work.
