I've had to compile libraries from source on windows, and it is a pain in the ass. Some libraries will be nice enough to give you an installer (like QT4) but others are 10x as hard to install in windows as in linux (such as FLTK)
Why don't these huge stores buy servers that can take the strain? sure, they may be ridiculously overpowered for most of the year, but being able to function on black friday is extremely important for their bottom line.
Due to changes in the driver stack, it's likely that vista will never have as good of 3d performance as with XP drivers. Most of the video driver runs in userspace on vista.
You can support BSD without supporting copyright, as it doesn't take advantage of many copyright protections.
You can't support GPL without supporting copyright, as it would be unenforceable without copyright.
It's time that they stopped treating us High School students like we're animals, and started respecting our rights. I'm sick of the feeling that I'm a second class citizen, without the rights of adults. The school should have no say on what we do outside of school grounds.
