then theres this - you are running for a conservative party, and you are choosing a woman for vp. a woman who looks like she's an upstart too, not someone who is in senate for 20 years, 10 years, etc. a woman in charge is a turn off for many conservative voters not only in u.s., but worldwide. you may be trying to play into the 'change' calls going on out there, but taking that much risk, how come ?

and someone who is actually under investigation, NOW. not before. and someone who admitted to doing stuff that may easily be interpreted as abuse of power, office too.

    you still miss my meaning.

all the reasons that ati destroys nvidia in crossfire ARE the reasons why single card ati is far more superior to nvidia.

and solely due to what you and i outlined.

dont you think that it is way too easy for ati to fix 2 4870 processors on a single card, and cope with 280 ? it is. and they are already doing it.

what i am trying to say is there is no "single" card concept now. we are at a point in time where an architecture's worth is considered from how many chips (or eventual processing power) you can fit onto one standard PCB.

and the fact is, EVEN though the hardware manufacturers oblige with the growing size of cards, and push bigger cases, stronger mobos that can accommodate humongous cards, ati will STILL have the advantage, because it will be able to squeeze in more processing power onto one card than nvidia can.

there is no 'single' card concept now. there is 'how many on a single card' concept.

    4870x2 is already out btw.

no they are not comparable. thats why in Dual (Sli, Xfire) mode ati smokes nvidia.

reason is simple. nvidia went the big, monolithic, powerful gpu route, whereas ati went the smaller, but comparably powerful gpu route.

ati took care to make its chip smaller, energy efficient, less heating per processing power.

result ? while it is overly ridiculous to try to squeeze 2 280s and their accompanying huge (30 cm long) cooling apparatus into a case in sli mode, and have to have a humongous psu to support them and burn electricity like madmen, you can reach similar processing power by putting in 4 4870s.

not only that, but 4870 x 2s are possible, whereas 280x2s are not. because, 280s require too much cooling, and too big in size that you cant fit 2 on one PCB.

result ? unbelievable setups like 4 x 4870x2s are possible, whereas 2 280s in sli would be questionable.

that basically means ati packs more processing power per size and transistor, or power consumed than nvidia. and thats kicking ass in my book.

starcraft is not played outside boundaries of time. time also passes when you are playing a starcraft game.

excuse me, whomever takes hours to develop a 'strategy' in a turn based game, is a moron, not a good strategy player. in starcraft, you have to see the next 10 to 30 minutes in front of you (duration also varies upon anything that can happen during the game), but also update your entire strategy constantly depending on what happens in that duration. that may cause strategy change for 1 to 4 times on any competent starcraft game.

so if it takes you 2 hours to come up and execute a strategy, excuse me, but you lack the capacity to play starcraft. you gotta do what you do in 2 hours in other games in 1.5 minutes in starcraft. if you cant, you get the shaft.

excuse me but age of empires and similar games dont have nothing to do with rts. they are basically "Whomever builds the baddest, fastest unit the most and sends them over, wins". there are small variation in tactics you can do, because every unit has an anti unit, but its nothing like starcraft. also the races, faction units are almost all the same, with only 2-3 different in 15 unit selections. they are basically the same.

in starcraft you have 3 different races with TOTALLY different units all having totally different abilities.

no unit has a clear anti unit. there are many different units that can stand against and be an anti unit of a particular unit because of their different abilities.

and this makes the game an infinite variation of strategy. there are countless ways to win a matchup. you can go mass production, but if your opponent has good micro (management, meaning using units very effectively individually) and uses very little number of units and their abilities perfectly, you are totally screwed.
