    There are lots of smart ways to handle it that don't require extreme measures like charging to post, or having vigilantes out there hacking accounts.

    Please name some. I haven't seen a smart one yet.

    It amazes me this problem hasn't been addressed well yet.

    Maybe it's because there are no easy ways to prevent spam?

    Crushing a skull requires too much force, which such robot probably wouldn't have. It is easier to push it's fingers through your eyes ;)

    You can do it even without resonator, atmegas have internal 8mhz oscillator. I've made some projects with atmegas, never used arduino, but if they have spacing other than .1, it's just design error or plainly dumb.

    Nobody has ever proved that speeding, by itself, caused accidents.

    Yeah, and falling from heights is not fatal, only impact is. I had collision once and I can say one and only cause was me speeding. If I didn't go so fast, I would have enough time to break. Of course reducing current speed limits won't cause drop in accidents due to reckless driving or inattentive drivers.

    Show me an honest cop today, and I'll show you a flying pig doing cartwheels next to a unicorn.

    This is just a visibility bias. Do you remember the last 10 officers who didn't give you a ticket? But you do remember those who did. There are many honest cops, but they are doing their job and not screwing with citizens so the citizens don't even notice them.

    So in this case those programs are just tools which make your job easier. Congratulations, you still have job security and not mindless work. In many other fields this is the same. People who did mindless work, now can do other tasks which are probably more gratifying and use their intellect more.

    Yeah but immigrants become old people too. So letting them in will be only a temporary solution. If a robot breaks you can fix it (using another robot?) or replace.

    Or it will be just like now - you have to say who is the person marked on a photo (which you probably have tagged before). This wass already working when you login to facebook from other country than before.

    Even if they had been used in an objectively fair manner, they would've had the effect of keeping the uneducated voiceless by keeping them out of the political process.

    That's the point. To remove those uneducated people, because often they are easy manipulated.

    If a company is only concerned about this quarter or this year they will never invest in the future and eventually be over taken by those that do.

    If that were true, we would have more companies thinking long term, because those thinking short term would die out.

    But how long was your fuse? At longer distances thicker cable will be a little better. At 5mm, anything will do.
