    And yet it can't even play Spotify using voice control A major fail. The walled garden works as long as the services you are tied to are actually competitive with the alternatives. Apple Music sucks in terms of compatibility. I want a service I can use to play music anywhere

    A scale bar would be pretty useless in those circumstances, unless you were flying. The hotel may be 200m from the beach as the crow flies, but if the only way to get there is via a footpath that is 1km long then you will be walking five times the distance. The walking directions you can get on Google/Bing maps are much more useful at telling you the actual practical distance between two locations

    Umm, no. The computers at my workplace (UK govt) are the same as they have been for the last seven years. USB ports were disabled at the time of installation, but they are connected to the internal network as well as the internet. Still run several legacy applications that need IE (we're still on IE7). Even worse, even new applications that have been brought in within the last year are still IE-only. With no new updates to IE on XP platforms it's an insane risk

    The iphone didn't actually run the chess programme. Most grandmasters could easily trounce an iPhone app - you need a fairly powerful computer to run software capable of beating a champ. This guy used his iPhone to connect to the internet so the programme didn't have to actually be running on the phone itself

    No TVs support 5.1 output over optical/TOSLINK. None. Your TV may be passing out audio to your Sonos but it is just stereo which is being upmixed by the soundbar to fill five channels

    Read the article. The first drug can't be created generically until July when the patent expires. By then Actavis will have switched everybody to the new drug.

    There are no generic formulations of the old drug available yet. It only goes off-patent in July. Actavis are trying to switch as many people as they can onto the new patented drug before then, killing demand for the old drug. So yes, companied can still produce clones of the old drug in July but by then everybody will be on repeat prescriptions of the new drug, and most doctors won't bother to switch back.

    Instead of Start->All Programs->Vendor->Program, I now hit the windows key, and start typing what I'm looking for (which is pretty quick) and I just click that.

    You could do that in Windows 7. You could also use the same method to launch any documents, songs or videos on your drive, without needing the extra step of pressing the down arrow to select the "files" lens.

    No serious enterprise would use an OCZ SSD, they are reknowned for poor reliability and lack of manufacturer support.

    The display is amazing, yes. But all the other specs you quote are pretty ordinary. My 2011 laptop has double the capacity SSD, a faster processor, 16GB memory for around 2/3 of the price, albeit at the expense of some battery life.

    Feist is on her fourth album, and it was released on Interscope/Polydor. Hardly fits the description of a Canadaian artist's second album released on an indie label. In fact I can't find anything fitting that description on the iTunes chart. The fact that the poster didn't name the artist makes me suspect they are full of shit.
