  1. Re:Rez - finally a reason to buy 360 on Pre-TGS Microsoft Press Conferences Features Rez, Ninja Gaiden 2 · · Score: 1

I don't recall Rez being on the GC. Ikaruga was. Both Rez and Ikaruga were on the DC. I was lucky enough to find a used copy f ikaruga on the GC for 15 bucks before it became uber rare. I also checked into gamestop one day to buy a game i can't even remember when i saw a copy of Rez "used" copy of Rez on the PS2. I say "used" because it looked like someone had just taken the seal off and sold it the day before. Which may very well had been the case.

Don't Google's sponsored links say "Sponsored Links" right next to them? They also have a different background which is visible even on my low contrast display. Anything more would make it look obnoxious I think.

Indeed. I work for a small company who happens to pay to be within the top entries, but i thought that much was common practice. At the time i learned that the results were no different than the regular results.

Amen brother!. If i had the money i'd have all three consoles and an HDTV. I prioritized the wii because of price and games. My brother owns a PS3(along with a 46" 1080p LCD :D) and encourages me to visit him to share in the experience. Many of my friends (and soon my roommate) own 360s. So, i'm pretty set when it comes to the 7th gen, but i don't get why people feel the need to belong in a club of fanboy exclusivity. isn't gaming about having fun? Getting the next Shadow of the Colossus/ICO game is a must for me and that regrettably means putting off the 360 that much longer.

  6. Getting old. on Most Laws Attempting Limits of Violent Videogames Fail · · Score: 1

It's the same old story told again and again. At some point people get old and stuck in their ways. They refuse to waiver in there attempts to hold on to what they think is the way things ought to be. Not much you can do, but fight off the total controlling of our society. Best thing to keep in mind is to keep an opened mind. Someday (perhaps that day has passed for you) you'll get old, but remember the plight of your youth and remember to help, not restrain, our children.

I play an MMO (EVE) while browsing social networks, watching videos(myspace/youtube)and instant messaging my friends all at once...ad-free. Besides paying for the MMO or buying the latest expansion for my favorite online games, how do they plan to squeeze an extra penny from people like me?

I don't mind seeing advertisements on my web pages if they are compelling and informative. Most advertisements are either links to crap, links to spyware, extremely annoying or all of the above. When i'm on a reputable website and see a few relevant adverts (i.e. audience specific) i'm not pissed. In fact i wish that Ad Blockers (or its contributors) would exercise less scrutiny when blocking some ads.

I buy products based on design quality and price. The real deciding factor is its utility in my lifestyle (as well as aesthetic value), but we're ignoring that point for now. I wouldn't buy the iPhone nor its clone. The quality of the iPhone does not justify its high price. However, with the iPhone there is an unsaid "promise" that it will last. With a clone you don't have a customer support staff to bitch at when it breaks. Is the clone cheap enough to replace it (if it breaks) and still be under the price of the iPhone? Maybe it's just a stigma of Chinese products, but i still don't trust them to last.

  14. Re:More elements of simulation needed on Richard Garriot Argues Against Stagnant MMOG Design · · Score: 1

Try Eve Online? It's the closest thing to what you described. I'll admit it's not a fantasy game (fantasy > sci-fi imho), but you can do...whatever you want given you have the skills and/ or money. I've always dreamed of a fantasy MMO that was a bit more free form. You know, bring the "role playing" back into MMORPGs. Not in that dumb "Hail!" stuff you run into on those so called RP servers on WoW. I want to have a reason to play my character. I want a world that motivates players to pursue other careers than just questing. I'd like to be a thief and steal from vendors and people without them knowing or without having to fight. I'd like there to be an EPIC creature that is present from the beginning, but will never respawn if killed. Maybe its a dragon that randomly raids towns. Maybe you have to find him and (hope to) defeat it one day. I could ramble on forever.

Worse yet, there are many things that have become standard that I look at and even though they are powerful enough to encourage the behavior of people obsessed with playing these games, I don't think they are the right way of building the future.

Slightly change the wording and you pretty much sum up what's wrong with society nowadays. Stagnation is a problem across the globe. When was the last revolution we had? The seventies? Berlin wall? Maybe i'm being cynical.

I see some of my friends trying to sit down on some of these Wii games. I tell everyone to stand up while playing Wii Sports or Wario Ware and threaten to turn the game off if they don't. There are some games just not meant for sitting down and i will not tolerate such profound laziness. It seriously doesn't take that much energy to wave your arm around or stand up. I understand people like to relax after a hard day, but there are other games for that.

Answer: I hope that more and more girls will play. I think the vocals aspect of the game will help. What I secretly wish for is an army of girls to show up and own drums. Or simultaneous singing/playing an instrument. That would rule.

Down here in texas i see just about as many girls playing guitar hero as i see guys playing. Still, i'd like to see more and i believe rockband will attract more females. If you buy it they will come.
