The thing might be that "we nerds" who know java, might think that it sucks and its dead but ordinary people that wants a quick fun doesnt give a shit if its down with shockwave/flash or java or what ever plugin .. They just want to play or do what ever the applet does for them ...

Anonymous remailing took a bellypunch when anon.penet.fi got "invated" by scienlogists so its not as well used as it might have been before.

    But...

HavenCo has recently started to host anonymous remailing. While there's a clear warning on the sites main page:

    • HavenCo operates an anonymous remailer for customers of HavenCo and the general public. No warranty express or implied is given as to the security of this remailer.

Considering this to the fact whats the business "catch" of the Havenco i hardly doupt that there will be any way for any parties to retrive sender/receiver information without physically executing "man-before-and-after" type of attack. (Which might be really hard to execute)

This is typical error if you have flash plugin installed or possibly java (I havent really verified this).

Flash plugin opens /dev/dsp in initialization state and depending on your sounddrivers, it wont open if you have, for example xmms (or anything else using sound devices) running. Someone also mentioned that java does the same but i havent noticed this myself.

So, here's a list of what you can really do:
    • get rid of offending plugins.
    • Stop all sounds when starting mozilla
    • Use esddsp to lauch mozilla
    • Get Alsa. Oss that comes with stock kernel doesnt support soundmixing and thus, multiple instances cannot use /dev/dsp "simultaneously".

Also there's kinda severe problem with red-carpet and evolution nightly-builds. Latests nightly builds are compiled against gtkhtml 0.9 and red-carpet uses older ones and doesnt work at all with 0.9 *AND* it even removes itself if you still want to install cvs build of evolution.. Crappy..
