Scientific Linux isnt a fork, the code is still the same and designed to be binary compatible, it's like CentOS.
Software isn't really a forked until it starts going in it's own direction like how LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice, MariaDB is a fork of mysql and OpenIndiana is fork of OpenSolaris
People have been predicting the death of consoles since the 90s, and the death of handhelds for at least 10 years. Yet the sales numbers and profitability continue to prove these people wrong every time. Look at the PS4.
Handhelds is something that Nintendo always nails. Home consoles not so much, the Wii was lightning in a bottle, unless they know they have the next big successful gimmick like the Wii they should stick to handhelds. The Switch is the right strategy they need for now.
Not sure if troll or not? Nintendo has basically given up on the home console business. The Switch is a handheld (a market Nintendo has always thrived at) with a dock. They dont have a dedicated home console anymore, they don't need one, they games they want to make work on their handheld which is hugely successful.
Why should they port games to their competitors? Because you dont like the majority of it's library? Many people disagree with you and are voting with their wallets. Welcome to capitalism!
If all these ISP's just closed up all their offices in California and moved them all inland or to the east coast with a big middle finger to Jerry Brown? They could just say "we don't operate in California, screw your laws"
Privacy IS absolute. Once Government breaches privacy and introduces surveillance you by definition do not have privacy anymore.
Same goes for free speech, free speech IS absolute, once you have restrictions on speech, speech is by definition restricted and not free.
This is a big reason why establishment parties left and right in all 5 of those countries need to be kicked out. Trump and Brexit are not loud enough warnings.
Buying a new phone every 4 or 5 years make sense, new tower frequencies in your area, new features but even now that is becoming less and less necessary. 5g will be the next time a new phone is necessary. This however is a joke.
The Pixel was not even a cheap machine, why anyone would pay that much for a Chromebook is beyond me, the entire point of Chromebook's were that it was so lightweight that it could run on ultra-cheap hardware.
Now 5 years later it's an expensive paperweight? Has anyone got Manjaro running on one of these?

I only use the Switch undocked when I travel so the better battery life will benifit me better. But I know what you mean about Xenoblade.
