Obviously this is a case where they had two separate engineering departments linked by a marketing department:
The marketing department declared that the phone uses 3x less energy than what one engineering department reported, and the marketing department claimed that the flexing generates 3x more energy than what the other engineering department reported.
You shouldn't go to war on drugs, or operate heavy machinery on drugs. It seems like a recipe for disaster!
The U.S. should just get all their helicopters and planes, arm them to the teeth and comb from border all the way down to the tip of south America and carpet bomb all of the drug fields, rinse and repeat until all the cockroaches and their eggs are gone for good.
I figure it will take about $60 billion, maybe more but that's how much the illegal narc business makes every year. You want to stop them? You gotta make it not worth the reward. U.S. politicians are taking their sweet ass time bullshitting their way through the whole "war on drugs" nonsense. Fuck the war on whatever, just bomb the fuckers and be done with it. Why does it have to be a big fucking production?
The U.S. had spy technology to spot a missile in cuban jungle 50 years ago, don't tell me they don't have the technology to spot a god damn pot field now.
Locate the fields, stick some incendiary warheads on some cruise missiles and launch them from the gulf of Mexico or the pacific.
The whole "war-on-drugs" is bull crap. It's a bunch of politicians-on-drugs instead. They can't get their shit covered beady little heads out of their asses. Because of these lame fuckers, civilians on the US-Mexico border are the ones suffering having to fend for themselves.
Want to take it a step further? Increase the punishments of the convicted sellers. If the threat of punishment isn't deterring the crime, the punishment is clearly not enough and the crime still pays. Stop wasting taxpayer dollar by throwing them in jail: guillotine is cheap and 100% effective, and makes for good entertainment and crime deterrent.
I think id software is the only company that does that. I love all the variations of Doom. They even freed the Quake and Quake 2 sources. It is very nice of them to give to the community.
On the other hand, you think anyone wants to see how clunky Microsoft's crap code is? They released the "format" for Excel and Word files... that was 2000 pages of bull crap lined with diarrhea. I sure as hell wouldn't look in XP source. Plus, there's probably all kinds of back doors they don't want you to see, and then there's the fact that Vista/Windows 7 are just patches on XP, so if they release XP they would be releasing a large chunk of Windows 7.
I'm not surprised, most people do not understand the power of a computer. I got a temp job in late 90's that consisted of endlessly copying and pasting things. So, I wrote a script and the script finished several weeks worth of work in just 30 minutes.
That's just some bull shit they keep trying to slap around. Amazon's Kindle is doing the same jack shit too, once you buy a kindle book it's yours forever. You can't give it, you can't donate it, you can't sell it. You gonna tell me now books are also not legally resalable? Come on buddy, that road ain't going nowhere. Let's just sit here while they slowly take away our rights so they can make more profit with less work.
With UPS:
1. powered by a bunch of 12 Volt batteries
2. circuit pumps 12 Volt DC to 120 Volt AC 60 Hz
3. cables carry the 120 Volt AC 60 Hz to a computer
4. switching power supply unit in the computer converts 120 Volt AC 60 Hz to DC, followed by high-frequency AC, pushed through a transformer again to bring down to voltage.
5. Output of the transformer is regulated to 12 Volts, 5 Volts, -5 Volts, -12 Volts, 3.3 Volts etc
This is not something new... you remove steps 2,3 and 4 from what everyone is already doing and suddenly you have google's method.
Hollywood blockbusters almost always lose money, even the big movies everyone saw. Forrest Gump is an example with net loss of $60 million. This is not because they are not breaking even, this is because it's really just a creative accounting scam.
Everything in Asimo is a slightly fancier and much more well-funded and publicized version of everything that's already been done before. But most people see Asimo and they're amazed and they become instant fanboi's of it because this is the first time they see such-n-such technology.
I'm not certain but I'm almost certain drawings of nude minors in sexual context is also illegal. So, if you draw two stick figures doing it and label them "16 year old and 17 year old doing it" then you've produced child porn.
They should arrest everyone under the age of 18... Surely they looked at themselves in the mirror at one point or another. Most even masturbated: which can be classified as doing it with a minor.
No real scientist has ever claimed to know where it all came from. They're researching, they're making theories, and they're trying to find an explanation as to where it all came from, finding proof and challenging the proofs. What do you think the LHC is? The purpose is to find the origin of the fundamental building blocks of matter. We don't know. It takes a true scientist to admit we don't know. Anyone who says "we know everything as definite proof" is a quack. The only thing we know for certain is that we don't know anything.
But, we can try to figure things out, or we can just sit on our asses and say it's all God and He has always been... very good proof, because Jesus was his son and the bible says so. Great research there. Way to go answering questions and figuring things out and questioning things.
As Carl Sagan put it: Science is a candle in the dark in this demon haunted world.
If you're trying to answer the question "Where did this semi-complex shit we call life come from?" the answer "It was made by something even more complex!" is invalid because not only does it defer the question, it creates an even bigger question: "Where did this even more complex thing that created the semi-complex things come from?"... and that is not good because you haven't really answered anything, you have created an unanswerable question in the process, and basically you crapped all over the original question. EPIC FAIL!
Are you serious? Give the guy a refund and file a lawsuit? Do you know how much money it costs in this country to get a lawyer to even get into court? At $50 no lawyer would even bother taking the case, and it's not even worth a civil suit. I'm not going to give eBay-guy a refund, I bought it, I used it, I kept the box in near mint condition and I have god damn right to sell it!
Valve's EULA specifically states that CD keys are not transferable. After you use it once, the CD is as good as a coaster and the box is just a piece of cardboard. They're not going to give me a refund OR allow me to sell my game.
To make sure nobody bought it, I did throw the box behind the store's shelves where nobody will ever find it until they lift the aisle dividers. It probably has been sitting there in the darkness collecting dust for the past 5 years.
I'm the janitor. I stole your exe (linked to you) and put it on the warez site.
You're not liable, and the software distributor is screwed out of their sales because people who never intended to buy their crap got copies of their crap for free but as long as you put a negative dollar value on someone enjoying something for free you come up with a loss, even though in real life almost all of those people wouldn't have paid you jack shit anyway, but that's a whole other bowl of enchilada.
You are hereby granted permission to question evolution by the official state bureau for science and advancement of society.
Was this what you were waiting for? You want to question something? Go question it! Don't be a dimwit, there are at least 6 really nice posts above that reference some of the more interesting facts about evolution. Read what they have to say, look at the supporting evidence, feel free to come to your own conclusions. Just don't be a dimwit telling people you're not allowed to question something, because you are.
Creationism isn't about questioning evolution. It's answering the question of where did everything come from by saying it was created by God. Saying God did it just defers the question, doesn't answer anything. Scientists are trying to answer questions, not defer them around endlessly. That's job for bureaucrats and religion.
Hah, that reminds me of the problem I had a few years ago... I actually bought Half-Life 2 at the store. Activated it, played it, it was fun, I finished it. I figured someone else would like to enjoy it now, so I sold my used CD (with box) on eBay. I got royally fucked when the guy who bought it from me couldn't even install it because apparently the cd-key becomes bound on use. So, to prevent the hassle of having the item returned and getting negative feedback, I went to the store, yanked open a box, wrote down the serial number and left, and gave the guy the new serial number, he was happy. Does this make me a thief? I somehow don't think so, I'm allowed to sell the shit I bought.
Does their new system fix this issue of not being able to sell your used crap? No, it doesn't. It's still the same crap and it's still DRM.
While it's true that the pieces are "captured" during the game, the part about redemption is not true. Pawns that reach the eighth rank of the board are Promoted. Unlike redemption, promotion is not limited to pieces that have already been captured.
I think Total Annihilation is the only game out there where all players have the same abilities and resources, but how they decide to use them changes the whole game. Each side has wheeled, legged, flying, hovering and floating (naval) units. The game gives you unlimited resources at limited rate. Since all sides have roughly the same units, the game depends largely on how you react to your opponents' strategy. There's no fixed general strategy, it keeps the game challenging and entertaining. If you haven't tried yet, get TA Spring http://spring.clan-sy.com/
and it's open source!
That's something I will never install on my computer, even if it gave out free music I rather download my music from reputable and accountable sources.

Steam is already actively stopping it: "you may not transfer games you already own" as stated here.
You can buy it, once you use it, it's yours... forever! You can't give it, you can't donate it, you can't sell it. Game over, man! Game over!

Does anyone else notice these guys are out to make more money without really producing anything at all?
1. find a way to make people pay more for less
2. ???
3. profit!
Hollywood blockbusters almost always lose money, even the big movies everyone saw. Forrest Gump is an example with net loss of $60 million. This is not because they are not breaking even, this is because it's really just a creative accounting scam.

I read that and my head exploded.

I was told it was all because of matter interacting with gravitons and graviolis.
