I thought you couldn't patch that up to the newest version, though. That was always a problem.
However, you can install the game with a key like 123-4567, so..
(And no, I'm not kidding, but I don't think that's the real one, either. Either it's a few numbers longer, or starts at zero, don't remember.)
I know about the "Microsoft Tax" but I never thought about the fact that they wouldn't have to provide software support. I'd think that'd make it way cheaper. Though, on the other hand, I've had tech support not want to handle a hardware problem because I was running Linux. So I called back and told them I was running Windows.
I've been using it since RTM and I haven't really had much of a problem. My hardware (when I first got it) wasn't really high end but it wasn't any slower, even with Aero Glass turned on. You DO have to turn UAC off, though, leaving that on is a no-no. Everything's fine from there.
Can you please list all this "DRM crap" that comes with Vista? I'm being serious, I want to know what you think it is.
Because Protected Video Path only gets put into use with HD-DVD or Blu-Ray content.
If you thought uninstalling all the bloatware they put on machines was bad, just imagine how it would be to install it on all those computers!
On a more serious note, the one nice thing about OEM Vista installs is that you can just grab any Vista DVD and reinstall over what came with it. You don't have to try and find an OEM CD like you did with XP (since the OEM CD that came with your PC still had all the vendor installed crap on it)
My question is, why are people even backing up executables? Just redownload or reinstall them. The only time I ever back up executable files are the stuff I've downloaded that may be hard to find again. Half the time it's better to redownload because I may have forgotten to check for a newer version since the last time I got it.
While I can understand that you may not have known what AT&T meant the first time you saw it, it's a rather unique acronym so you'll probably at least remember it's a telephone company in the US, or something like that, the next time you see it. However, the first thing I think of when I see 'BT' is BitTorrent..
One thing, you should really try going to a smaller city to watch your movies. I've never once had a problem with someone talking on their cell phone during a movie, around here.
Also, Hollywood has nothing to do with movie theaters. It's not like Paramount or 20th Century Fox can tell the theaters, "Go spend all this money blocking cell phones from your theaters." Complain to your local cinemas.
CD/DVDs cost money and effort. I'm not saying it isn't always worth it (i.e. Microsoft releases service packs on CD, as well as software trials, usually only for the cost of shipping) but for someone like Google, if you want a disc version, buy the whole thing. You get what you pay for.
This is a very good example of why I just reinstall with a normal Windows CD instead of the retail version. I even have an OEM version of XP handy so I don't get the junk from a 'restore' CD.
You -can- play Steam games offline. There's just enough people complaining about it not working for them that most people think it doesn't work for everyone.
Personally I play a lot of Steam games, but still don't like the thought of a game that I bought on CD and -expect- to not require internet (Though I got HL2 over Steam, even if I bought retail media I knew it would have required Steam to play and therefore the internet) constantly to play it.
Now, if they released Spore on Steam, I don't see it being as much of a problem. (And I'd be happier to buy it, too)
Wait, does that mean a Microsoft product is actually better?
(I'm being serious, too, I've never used LN but I use Outlook on Exchange at work and Outlook with a PocketPC at home, and think it's great for the most part.. though I use Thunderbird for personal mail.)
I always use Dreamweaver, but almost (almost) never use its WYSIWYG feature. The only time I do is to preview a layout quick to make sure the spacing is right. Otherwise, I just stick with it for syntax highlighting and Sites/FTP for putting it up on the server.

Mine's even worse than yours!

See? It's all your fault!
It's called modifying your hosts file.

Outlook is the worst disaster for corporate productivity?
I think you missed the Outlook vs. Lotus Notes discussion here a few weeks ago..

How the heck would getting another phone as a decoy not do exactly what they want the system to do?
How long before someone automates the test?
You could probably just leave the memory card in your phone..
Also, there are SDHC microSD cards, so I think the highest you can go right now is 8gb.
I don't think it deserved that sort of torment :(
Actually, I'm suprised that FOX didn't go after it first. News.com would go well in News Corp.'s portfolio.
"What smells like blue?"

I used to write stuff in VB.net until I finally learned C#. Now I shudder when I look back at any VB.net code, even my own.
Too bad you are grammar sucks?
GP was correct.
