Recycling in general is BS. The saying is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and should be in that order. Instead what has happened is it has become Recycle, Recycle, Recycle. From what I recall Germany has taken the statement to heart and implemented packaging taxes. With the clamshell designs in packaging it has created more landfill/recycle waste. Impose a packaging tax and you will probably start seeing small things like USB keys and the like being held behind counters instead or at least the retailer will have their own theft proof cases.

Re Dog poop pickup good luck with that, to keep taxes down my area have started removing trash cans from local walking paths. Before they did that it was convenient enough that people would pick up after their dogs now they can't be bothered to walk up to a mile before they find a place to get rid of them so the paths are becoming mine fields of the smelly kind. Talk to the local counselor falls on deaf ears.

No they send you an email and that's it. I have received three and am still with them. It's literally the minimum any company can do to ensure that they don't get wrapped in to this.

Rogers and Bell have not played ball with any of these situations. Them as well as Videotron were asked to provide names with the whole Hurt Locker fiasco and only Videotron obliged. Rogers and Bell told them to get a warrant otherwise go and take a hike. Hell I downloaded Hurt Locker to see what all the hoopla was. Didn't get anything from that. Of course at that point the Oscars were over. May do that with O Dark Thirty as well.

I have one and it is collecting dust since I picked up a Nexus 7. The hardware is good, it's just the OS that was crap. The youtube app which I use a lot had an annoying feature where the video would stop after 5 seconds if you had paused and resumed playing. The wireless networking was flakey. Confirmed this when I got the Nexus and had rock solid signal in my house. The video player doesn't have AC3 nor DTS support so I need to reencode everything. Nexus 7 with MX player has played everything I have thrown at it.
Whenever I went to look for new apps they were predominantly ebooks and the lack of try before you buy is annoying (yes I know ipads have the same thing so it isn't an isolated Rim issue). Now when BB10 comes out I may dust it off and recharge the battery to see what it is like and give it to the wife.if she wants it that is.

This is the truth of the matter. Bunch of us consultants went and talked to a corp contract lawyer about non-compete clauses. The gist of it is that in 99% of the cases it is unenforcable but what happens is you spend (around here) $80k in lawyer fees to win and get about $60k back. Most companies know perfectly well that independent contractors don't have that kind of money to throw around.

Firstly I do think Canada mandatory training before getting a license to purchase a gun is a great thing. I think it ensures people really want a gun as well as educates on responsible ownership. However I do believe some of the laws are hypocritical for example an AR15 setup as a 22 is still restricted and can only be have a 5 round clip but a Ruger 1022 semiautohas has no round limit and is effectively the same gun but is not restricted. Also an M1 Garand has more stopping power and is allowed 8 rounds but is not restricted

Granted you are going to have people become addicted and potentially get worse but that happens already.
