A computer cannot ruin a game if you simply don't play computers. If a computer can solve for all computations, that takes the fun out of it, sure. Since it cannot lose, what's the point? So just play people. Pit your skill against another humans skill.
You're right about that. Not to say it can't stand on it's own merit, but I'm thinking more developers will be looking towards id and tech5 with all the UE3 engine trouble.
I think I actually have a few reasons to keep Java around. Not many though. I don't think I'd miss it much. Anyway, I don't really rely on adblock to get them all. If a browser extension won't work, I add it to my host file. Or to my firewalls deny list. Advertisers need to get a clue. If you are annoying, people will turn you off.
I completely agree. Heroic dungeons are BCs strong point. However there are too few and the rewards are too few as well. Or better put, the rewards aren't good enough. I'm replacing Heroic mode drops (and badge purchases) with raid drops and Arena/PVP purchases.
I'd love to see more five man content. And it would be great if there were rewards that were as good as that you would get from the big raids. Sure, the coordination and team work of a large raid can be fun at times but I'd rather get together with a small group as I generally have more fun that way.
Maybe downing Arthas with a five man would be a little strange (only because the game has told us we need oodles of people to kill big bosses) but It would be a lot of fun.
Yes. You can play through much of the game and have plenty of fun. Level 1-70 can be done by casual people, and I'm sure 71 to 80 can be as well. If you played just a couple hours a week though, that 1 to 70 will take you several months. If you start now you might be 70 before the next expansion is released.
If you come at the game with the intention of enjoying the story, the lore and the process of moving through the world, then you might enjoy yourself. However raiding the high level instances will be a long ways off and may not be something you really ever have a chance to do much of.
Blizzard does have a bit of a problem with casual players being able to be involved in end game content.
And as somebody who enjoys the lore, I recommend reading all the back story and if you have not already, play Warcraft III and its expansion.
No no, all those things will still be legal. The Squeezebox must however be chained to your mp3 server. The chain length can be no longer than three feet. Also, you can only listen through head phones (and only at low volumes). If anybody else wants to listen to music in your home, they will need to purchase their own.
I hear the RIAA pricing is catching on in other industries. In addition to the per gallon cost of gas, there will be an additional per mile traveled tax for each seat in the car (regardless of if anybody is sitting in that seat). Water will see a similar pricing structure. In addition to a flat household fee, there will be a per gallon and per person surcharge. There will be an additional fee for each device capable of dispensing of water (facets, showers, toilet, ect) and a fee for dispensing of any "waste water" related items.

No, duelling prevents those without epics from ever winning a roll against somebody who does. I hear that for next patch they will simply have a PayPal pop-up and you get to bid in silent auction.
Frequently when articles mention World of Warcraft, somebody will post links to stories such as these. It gets old.
I can't help but wonder, were Dick and Jane meant for each other. Was their relationship destined to fail regardless of some game? Was Little Johnies raiding schedule as bad as Big Tommy's crack addiction? You know, player Imadoofus on the realm Skull Thumper? Well he used to be a well paid techie but now he lives in his moms basement and pay his subscription recycling bottles he got from mugging homeless people.
"Until people see that it's rude and inappropriate behaviour that is the problem, not words, we'll always be stuck in the 1950s."
Good point, but as another poster noted, we use certain words because they have more impact than others. Where "go away" might be rude, "Fuck Off" has a much greater impact.
Your seven year old telling the teacher to fuck off or cursing in any public place isn't funny. However, should your child do that, may I suggest that it is your own fault, not the fault of some television personality who accidentally (or even purposely) said fuck on some show. It's your job to teach your child that such language is inappropriate.
At some point, the child will begin to think for themselves. Wouldn't you like to like to know that you somehow made a positive impact on your child's upbringing? Or will you let the media and the government take care of everything for you. Go ahead. Be parent. Don't wait for the FCC to do something for you.
Curios. Why knock Bliz for having characters similar to that of Warhammer? Honestly. What somebody else can't have Orcs? Or is the complaint that Warcraft has Humans? Damn they must have copied somebodies IP.
I hate to say it, but your post is as bad as the Photoshop users who first try with Gimp can't get anything done. They have some differences in interface and functionality. One would expect a little bit of a learning curve however both have much in common. If you are reasonably fluent in one, then quite honestly, you should be able to use the other with minimal fuss.
"Why'd she have the litterbox?"
Some peoples habits are hard to explain. They made Freedom Force? Ah that was fun stuff.

SL? What could Shadow Labyrinth possibly have to do with 2L?

Because some people like to understand the world and universe around them. Others wish to remain uninformed. Do as you will.

You listed "ect." as a "term" that is incompatible with Microsoft. I take it you mean that "everything" is. Can't say I disagree.

Maybe at some point they will realize that having no DRM might actually make them more money than pissing off paying customers.

But we need someone to RTFA so we don't have to. You have made a great sacrifice. I salute you.
