exactly. i don't know how many g1's sold, but i thought about it, went and found some articles from the g1 launch day, and basically everyone said "well, the g1 didn't sell out, some stores still have half their inventory in stock, the g1 is a failure."

The twitter app i use (spaz) is open source and it's in the app catalog. and they were able to do it before the SDK was even available to the public. they got permission from palm.
i just got back from italy, and literally right across from the louis vitton store there were people on the street selling fake louis vitton bags. the only reason they are doing this in the US is because we're the only people who will do anything about fakes.
the only REAL way apple could sue is if they had copyright over the "sync" process. meaning around the messages they are sending. Since the pre is doing 2 way sync, they are obviously interpreting the commands that itunes is sending and doing whatever it's supposed to do. they couldn't be sued over appearing like an ipod via USB.
"Dr. Harman, where would you like to do the trials at?"
"What country has an over population problem?"
"China?"
"Fantastic, lets try it there. Hopefully it works or we'll just be making matters worse."

because you aren't very funny at all.
you probably would have been better off sending them your money, then they would have at least made less from that than selling your email address.
congress will probably find the need to regulate this also....
