ah nevermind. i just got to the "pure javascript" part. Although all the js files for asp.net ajax could be used, it would probably be a LITTLE more work (not a whole ton) to make it work with their system. ASP.NET ajax is streamlined for use with .net.

  17. silverlight will try to build a developer support? on Microsoft To Open Source Some of Silverlight · · Score: 1

There's already a developer community built around silverlight. For starters, i would say that you have at minimum 40% of the .net developer community. On top of that, i would say you have maybe 1000 at minimum developers who want to do some rich internet application development, but don't have the money for flash and media servers. On top of that, i would say you have 8% of the php crowd interested in silverlight (actually 20% are probably interested, but 12% of those don't trust microsoft).

so, add all these up and you are gonna have a fairly large developer community already, and adobe knows it. that's why they open sourced flex right as it was used, so that people would start using it!

Seeing as how apple is delaying releasing a patch for the ipod becuase windows vista "supposedly" messes up the songs on your ipod, i say take office off of the mac. Maybe when people start switching back to Microsoft to use office, apple will look beyond their ego and fix a problem, if it is a problem, within the 12 months BEFORE the next microsoft operating system is released, rather than leaving it unresolved a month AFTER it's released.

  23. Re:Sucks for The Others on ASP.NET Ajax Released · · Score: 1

Maybe for people that make frameowrks, but people that are making asp.net controls that are enabled by ajax (Telerik and ComponentOne for example), people are already getting going with asp.net ajax. People who before were making their own ajax code and such are now adapting their contorls for the new asp.net ajax. This is NOT going to woo people over dojo and things like that. it's just going to enable asp.net developers to have a ajax framework that works like the other .net code they are used to writing.
