So what's the use of animals then? because imho if this is really just as tastefull and good as real meat, then it should be forbidden to slaughter animals. but then those animals aren't necesary anymore, and nobody will keep them, which will lead to the extinction of some of those species...

I guess the slashdot poster of the article just wants to get some headlines and didn't read the actual story (or at least get his/her facts straight).

It's not that the judge silences the scientist, volkswagen didn't have a (real) problem with him publishing the article, what they had an injunction for was the publication of the actual key. The scientist didn't want to publish the article without the actual key and is now whining about being censored.. Most newssites don't actually get the facts anymore these days and just publish only the juicy (incorrect) bits..
So, the scientist can publish the article as he wants, but without the actual key.. And to me, that's perfectly fine, there is no need to publish the actual key except for his 15 minutes of fame.. And the biggest problem I have with all this, his 'research' (IMHO hobbyproject) was all financed with public money.. instead of whining, go do some real actual research that really benifits the society which is paying for it..

But wait, you mean I have to do what others like to do? My hobby is watching movies. And sports for instance seems brain numbing to me, whats the fun of kicking a ball (soccer) or hitting/catching a ball (baseball) or run around with a ball (american football) or dribble with a ball (basketball) or hit a small ball over a large course (golf) or hit a ball with a racket (tennis), of beat the crap out of somebody else ((thai)boxing/martial arts). Yeah, maybe YOU like that, but I certainly don't...
And it's not cartel offerings, they just try to create the movies a large public actually wants to see.
I think there are many reasons why the big blockbusters tanked this season.. "After Earth", how many Shyamalan movies actually where successes (only six sense) and nobody wants to see Will Smith's son, the kid can't act and only got the job due to his dad. 'White House Down', well it hasn't opened here in europe so I cannot comment on the movie itself, but having another movie with exactly the same premise ('olympus has fallen') isn't something that will get people to flock to see it (even if it might be better). 'Pacific Rim', well, if the whole storyline/drama is based on actual crap and ridiculous way of controlling the robots (the neural drifting crap), it isn't a real wonder why people aren't going to see it, for me it was the worst movie this season, even though it could have been great (they should have just dumped the whole neurocontrol and drifting part and replaced it with real piloting the robots and real drama (not based on something they feel through the drifting), it could have been great. The robots themselves where great, the monsters where great.. 'The Lone Ranger', well, can't say anything about that, it's still not released here in europe, and I have no idea really why it actually tanked (but then again, John carter tanked last year, and I thought (and many I spoken too) it was a great fun popcorn movie..

That's the disadvantage of multiplayer gaming, if you have a better rig, you'll bound to outplay people with lesser rigs, which is unbalanced and in the end as I said it before, just as much cheating as just using real cheats like radar..

  19. I still don't like it, as it's still the same boring flat windows 1 look.. They need to add aero glass back as an option (it already was optional in windows 7, but you could turn it off, and that's actually what they did for windows 8 and removed the code, THAT is one of the biggest reasons why it uses less resources, just turn it off in windows 7 and you'll see that much less resources are used..
Personally I don't like the boring flat look of windows 8, but I don't want to use 3rd party software to get back what was standard in windows 7, and the worst part I think it's because some lame designers thought it looked better to them and some stupid testpanel... Just let us decide how windows should look and not some dumb trendy designer.. Just look at how they fubarred Visual studio 2012(2013) with all those monocolor icons so people can't find anything anymore, and all because some lame designer thought it looked cool to them.. Well guess what, design is in the eye of the beholder, and to me most designers don't know jack what looks good, only what is hot..

Electricity can be generated completely clean, and even as long as it isn't it's still only at 'one' place compared to the millions of polluters on the road, it's easier to filter one coalcenter as having to filter a million..
And let's not forget, fuelbased vehicles need oil, oil is used for much more than fuel only, and oil is not infinitive (hell they even think we won't make it another 50 years), and it'll take a few decades before we even have replaced all fuelbased vehicles with electricbased vehicles, so we really need to start as soon as possible. Also the technology will only further by this, as more research is done when more vehicles are sold..
You have to look at it on the long run.. and in the long run, electric vehicles are the future..

Personally I hate it, because there is NO reason why you should use your phone during a movie, you've got all the time you need up until the movie itself starts (and during intermission if there is any), although even during trailers I find it annoying..
I go to the movietheater regular these days, and I see it almost every showing that there's at least one person playing around with his/her phone, it's just very annoying.. If it were up to me, the should even block the phonesignal in the theater itself, and if you really REALLY need it, you can get a special pager (or IMHO just don't go)..
