  1. why not have an R-rated indication on Facebook Lets Beheading Clips Return To Its Site · · Score: 1

I always wondered why there isn't an 'R'-rated or '18+' indication you can set with your video/picture, so other people can just set an indication in their setting they don't want to see it (or it's on by default), and people younger than 18 (or whatever age depending on the country they live in) shouldn't even be allowed to view the content...

I really don't understand all the f-ing fuzz about DRM being added to the standard, as a developer/company you DON'T have to use the DRM on your site, you CAN use it without having to resort to external components which are not available on many platforms.. Well, if you object to having DRM in the standard, then you should also have to object to anything in the standard that replaces stuff like silverlight and flash..
People who are against putting DRM into the standard are just a bunch of morons.. If DRM works correctly as a user you won't have any problems (you can view/read/listen to the content without any problems), DRM mostly becomes a problem if you want to consume some content without willing to pay..
Go make your own content if you don't want to pay for content, see how long you can keep up with spending money but not getting any back..

  11. what bs... on RMS On Why Free Software Is More Important Now Than Ever Before · · Score: 0

what big nonsense is the guy talking, there is at least just as much 'malware' in free software as there is in closed, most people just download their stuff from anywhere without checking it's source. Free software seems great, but most of the times it's not as polished as closed software and being able to just fork it so you can change what you like is great if the project already was at it's end, but else you have to keep maintaining it with the original project, and a lot of times the fork just goes dead (or the original project), which ofcourse isn't a big problem if you are a developer yourself, but as a regular user it can be a problem..
There is room for both as there is enough software which is specfic and not available as free software, and you can't tell a developer to make it's software available for free, money needs to come in..

Also it being done by a company that has no track-record of even sending a satellite into space is another big problem.. even though they say some space-heavyweights are onboard.. So when you are gonna compare iOS7 (which also won't run on all apple devices, and also will have some problems with a few devices, just like ANY iOSx has had before) to an OS on hardware requirements your whole article goes down the toilet... To me, Vista wasn't such a big disaster, Windows 8 is much more of a disaster as with Windows Vista you at least had the possibility to completely configure the look of it (with 3D/transparent options AND you could make it look as ugly as the lame windows 8 desktop) without having to resort to some thirdparty tools..
