YES, finally someone who gets it..... And with an advertising budget of 83m they can't even spend $50k on a programmer to do the job.. It's not like they even have to start from scratch as they alreayd have a 'framework'..
I just hope that Sony will update the driver because now it's known that there is no technical reason for not to update it, only financial reasons...
But NOOO they'd rather spend some cash on some stupid new options for the XMB, which is also Fubar since FW3.0, I'd rather have the old XMB, which was much better.. But I guess they're using a lower resolution now internally so they have some extra mem free...
that ofcourse isn't necessary.. accident rates can go down, but the reason why an accident happens can change ofcourse.. So for example if there where a lot of accident because of blindspots on a truck in the past it could be that because of better mirrors/camera's on a truck those kind of accidents have dropped, but because of the rise of stupid people who are texting behind the wheel that kind of accident have increased (but maybe not yet as much as the blindspotreason), so in the end you don't really have an increase in accidentrates, but the reason of the accidents have been changed..
This is only one side of the story, some poeple claim their speed is capped, but there also a lot of people wo don't have those problems.. a lot of the people who claim their speed is capped forget that it's also possible the servers they are downloading from are beyond their bandwidth capacity.. Some usenet payservers blame UPC even though enough people who have other ISPs have the same problems, let's not forget those payed usenet servers aren't 'clean' themselves and earn a lot of money with their service which is only about providing illegal copies of movies/musix/games/software, and have little or nothing to do with the real reason usenet was invented for...
But the problem is, that FCC used their authority to stop Comcast even though there are no rules for what comcast did.. and without those rules FCC did something they weren't entitled to..
You and me may not like what comcast did, but if there aren't any regulations about it then there isn't much that FCC can do until there are, but they did and that's why they are getting sued....
Will the new FF finaly have a 'always use cleartype for HTML' option just like IE has? it's the only reason why I'm still not using FF as reading text is just a pain in the butt with FF compared to IE.. in version 1 and 2 you could do this via a 'hack', but since version 3 you have to put your whole windows into cleartypemode, and that's something I don't want to do as cleartype sux for menu's etc...
It's funny to read all those law-experts here at Slashdot who think they are better at knowing/practising law... It's hard to defend someone if what he did is actually against the law.. You may not agree with it because of your own personal reasons (being that if they start going after fileshares in a big way you will be screwed too), but that doesn't mean all those people (judges and lawyers) are idiots, they know more about law than any of you..
I'm sorry to say this, but until cars can completely drive by itself, no blind(wo)man has any place behind the steeringwheel of a car.. People who can see can hardly drive with all the technological help in cars these days, so why take the extra risk for persons who can't see a thing...
they've been holding this patent since 2003 and they just noticed now that everyone and his dog are using touchpads to control portable electronic devices.
And you know for certain they didn't approuch the companies earlier, but they couldn't come to an agreement and maybe that's why they are sueing them now.. So it propably has been going on for a while now, but we only hear about it now.. That's something that happens so many times..
Well, the student didn't kill 4 people along the way, so he actually didn't fullfil what was asked.... If he would have killed 4 people then and only then would he get the million dollars... but ofcourse if he did that he wouldn't enjoy the million dollars as he was going straight to Jail.. hehe..
I'm pretty sure you just clicked 'yes' without reading the message when it was asked, I still have no problems on my system, still at Google..
Also if it really is the case, then you should also bitch at Google and Apple, they do exactly the same thing..
people these days just don't really read what they are 'yessing' to and blame the system..
It's not the tracking of how many kilometers you've driven, it's also for different prices, so if you drive in a city you'll pay more per kilometer than if you drive on a dusty road in the middle of nowhere..
Here in the Netherlands they also want to start with a system like that.. but the biggest problem I see is the technical side, as how simple will it be to fool the device, and what happens if the device fails (which ofcourse is something every new hardware is doing lately when you buy it).. And let's not forget about the big costs of administrating all those data. At least here in the netherlands the system is gonna cost much more to the taxpayer as the current system (you pay 1 'fee' a month to the IRS which depends on the weight of your car and the rest is when you start pumping gas per liter into your car.. but ofcourse we 'simple' folks know it will cost a lot more as the current system, but I guess the 'higly educated' people know better.. huhum....)
Uhm.. and who are you to decide that NK must not create nuclear weapons? As long as countries as the USA/Russia/China still have nukes, any other country is entitled to creating their own nuclearweapons.. And for having nukes, I'm more afraid of the USA then of NK as the USA already proved as the only country in the world they are stupid enough to actually throw the bombs..
So especially the USA should shut up until they stop making their nukes and get rid of the ones they have.. If you want others to stop then first stop yourself... I can understand Kim, because he's being threatened by the USA with an invasion as that morron of a Bush named them as a rogue-country.. happily for the rest of the world it seems that Obama actually want to do some good instead of Bush's evil.. So there is still hope for the USA...
I guess it must be you then, as I never had any problems of dissiness or something with my VFX1/Cybermaxx2 and now my vuzix VR920.. ofcourse if your equipment isn't setup properly for the specified person then I guess it can happen.. It's a bit like wearing new glasses, at first your brain has to adjust and that can take from a few minutes to a few days...
I personally don't care much for the Augmented Reality as it is again something completely different as VR..
But the main thing is, I agree with the original newsitem that it's weird that there still aren't affordable 'high'-resolution HMD's as there hasn't been much progress over the last 15 years (the VFX1 is 15 years old and the tracking of that helmet is even much better as the latest Vuzix VR920 (at least the yaw)) I would shell out at least a 1000 bucks if there was a VFX1 fitted with 1280x720 per eye as IMHO it's one of the best headsets there is, it sits much better as the VR920 IMHO)..
Uhm.. you've never had a real decent HMD on your head I hear, no bigscreen flatscreen can match a decent 3d-HMD with tracking.. It's just a whole different ballgame.. even lower-resolution HMD's with 800x600 (hell even 640x480) is a completely different experience as a 1600x1200 flatscreen..
I agree completely with your statement.. The type of hackers are the problem, not the siteowners.. And with other criminals, these types of hackers should be found and dealt with..
And siteowners should learn not to only mirror their data to another server, but that's a whole other topic..
And what's new about that? when any disk get fragmented the performance will degrade also in the future.. People who didn't think of that are waaaaaaaaay to naive.. The only difference is that defragging should be much faster as with a regular disk..
But even if the company is 'dead' that doesn't mean the game is 'dead'. Another company will just buy the game and continue on it, especially as it was said that the game was nearly done..
You forget that most of the users are just 'dumb' customers who don't know jack about upgrading, and for their own safety it's best to force a new browser. That's a common thing about a lot of techpeople(slashdotusers), they think they are the regular people.. Also, MS has more people to think of than the creators of FF..
Uhm.. stop bitching, there is nothing wrong with Vista (especially the current version), it's all in your head.. And let's not forget that Vista is already some years on the market..
And sorry to say this, but if you buy a PC with Vista now, you get a coupon for a free upgrade to Windows 7, BUT why change to a new OS if your current OS is running just fine for you.. And if you buy Vista now you already know about Windows 7, but that's normal, the current PC you buy is already 'old' when you buy it, there is already new hardware in a month, You know that, it's normal.. You just have to make up your mind if you buy now, or wait... MS isn't screwing anyone, it's just normal business for any company, the screwing is all in your head...

it's not available for windows, and I'm not gonna buy an apple just for that (I'm not gonna buy an apple period)...
I'm also wondering if there is a FOSS alternative to Premiere Pro as I haven't found anything yet..
Gimp might be a substitute, but Inkscape is nowhere near illustrator or Coreldraw (yet, at least the last time I checked it)..
This is only one side of the story, some poeple claim their speed is capped, but there also a lot of people wo don't have those problems.. a lot of the people who claim their speed is capped forget that it's also possible the servers they are downloading from are beyond their bandwidth capacity.. that ofcourse is BS, as everybody know which kinds of music/movies/software is talked about....

did they contact the owners of an infected PC in anyway to tell them their PC is infected?
