  1. Well recoding sarien to javascript isn't difficult (especially with the C-to-java converters these days), but putting it on a site WITH the games isn't smart.. These games have still got copyright and aren't freeware..

I don't think that statement is true anymore, as you can see that it's already some time not the case of 1 down 10 up.. With convictions like these more and more people are starting to think before setting up websites.. it's still a long way off before it really does have a big impact, and it will never go away, but it certainly will be much less.. But then again, it's a good thing sites like 'the pirate bay' are being targeted as the only reason for their being is piracy, and piracy is a crime.. Just think if it was your movie/music/whatever your lifelyhood would depend on and people just start to steal your 'bread'.. and that's the biggest problem with a lot of people, they just think of them selves and not of the consequences of their actions..

Uhm... I guess you've never installed linux if you are saying 'on a computer way easier'.. Installing it on the PS3 is about the easiest you can, because distro's like YellowDog are especially for PS3, so no need to go and find some obscure driver to get your old video/sound/networkcard working.. And what's with that respond of 'and keep playing games on the PS3', if you installed Linux on the PS3 you can just switch to regular PS3 gaming whenever you like by restarting the PS3 (which ofcourse is much faster as you would restart a regular old PC).. I don't know about you, but even though I have some old PC systems laying around I'm not really interested in spending my time getting those up and running and connected to my TV when all I have to do is put in a DVD and just start it..

That's not true.. you download something, you watch/listen to it. the only legal way would have been for you to watch/listen to it if you payed for it. It's more like sneaking into a movietheater and watch a movie without paying, which is illegal. "ah but I wouldn't have bought it anyway" isn't a valid anwser, because if you really wouldn't have bought it you also wouldn't have seen it, but you did, so the contentcreator should have received some money for it. If you wouldn't buy it anyway then you shouldn't download it (or you should just wait till it's on tv/radio). Stealing is about loosing income, and that's exactly what you are doing, stealing income from the contentcreator. but I guess that's too complicated for people like you to understand.

And there you are wrong in your 'analogy'. I'm writing text on a public forum which means it's my copyright BUT i'm "giving" permission to 'copy' it onto your computer using your webbrowser. Your 'analogy' only would be right if the rightsholder of the music/movie is putting their content online with the permission to copy/download it (for free), but that's not the case in my text. Because you can get it via a torrentsite/newsgroup/warezsite doesn't mean you are allowed, as 90% of the movies/music available through those sites aren't put there with the permission of the rightsholder.. If contentowners want to ask outrageous prices, it's their right to do so, but it's not your right to steal the content because you think the price is too high. If you don't agree with the price then just don't buy it, but don't go stealing it.. you wouldn't steal a ferrari because you think it's too pricey.. That doesn't mean I'm with the high prices, I also think it's ridiculous to ask $40 for a new BR, but I won't go stealing it, I'll just wait a while until the price has dropped to a price I'm willing to pay..

There's nothing wrong with their businessmodel, it's a lot of consumers who are just wrong, because it's easy to steal music/movies these days using the internet doesn't mean it is ok to do so.. Why should I pay for some deadbeats who should be punished instead of being rewarded for their actions. If you want to listen to music of want to watch a movie but you are not willing to pay for it then you just wait until it's on the radio/tv or just wait until the price has dropped. There is no reason other than your own lack of moral to steal movies/music..

  12. Re:Makes sense on Google Tells Users To Drop IE6 · · Score: 1, Interesting

What nonsense is this, why would you upgrade if all your needed software is still running. Because a newer version of say Office is out, doesn't mean you've got to use it if your old version still has all the things you need it doing. The problem with newer version is also that you need a complete new supercomputer to run the new application at the same speed as your old version did on you old computer and only have some new features that you propably actually gonna use (and mostly is already available in some other kind of way on your old version).. We still have clients working with windows95 just because they don't need anything else, they only need office95 for doing their letters and have a financial program that also runs great on their system, and even we use windows95 (ofcourse with all the latest patches including latest IE (5.x)) as a target for our software, because if it runs on that, it runs on every windows, officially we don't support windows95 anymore, but as I said if it runs on that it runs on everything.. Just as people say MS is pushing IE down our throaths we can say that Google is doing the same with their software and their choices.. a lot people just think you need to have the latest of the latest because it is better, now I can say for one that it really isn't.. IMHO it isn't progress to need a new supercomputer just to be able to run the same programs only newer version of it, it's just that programmers have become too lazy these days when it comes to performance.. and .NET is definitly a slow framework...

A long time ago Mac was the best, but these days it surely isn't, and certainly not the best in regard to financially as apple computers are way overpriced (these days they're nothing more than a regular pc running OSX). The windows platform is an equally if not much better (it's cheaper) platform as the Mac is. But because you like the Mac doesn't make the Mac the best platform for DTP anymore.. If you like your Mac just keep using it, but don't scream it's the best platform as it surely isn't (anymore).. Maybe in a couple of years Linux has become more userfriendly (and with MUCH less different distro's that are slightly incompatible with eachother) it will be one of the best platforms around.. But in the end you just use what you like and works best for you, if it's Mac, use Mac, if it's Linux, use Linux, if it's Windows, use windows, but don't try to enforce your choice on somebody else....

The only reason why there aren't many virusses/trojans for linux, is the fact that it's not as popular as windows..
