Dear Customers, we at Microsoft regret to tell you that the release of Fiji will be delayed due to a small coup. Please be assured that, after we have finished this game of cricket, we will be releasing ahead of schedule.
The New Zealand government has bugger all interest in property rights. As far as I can tell, the current morality is something along these lines. If you steal a car, then you are a criminal and the car is not your property or the property of any you sell it to. If the government steals a car, then it is their car and they can damn well do what they want with it.
The government does not give a damn about property rights. They are just doing a deal with someone in return for something else. In this case, I would imagine they have been offered a slice of someones pie and/or are being pressured by Maori to protect their culture. I can't see there being a huge problem with p2p uploading in a country with a largely 128kbs upload rate.
Personally, I wish they would shaft the music industry in New Zealand and the rest of the world. I like a good sing-along, and think the music should be made because we want to, not for money.
"It was new problem 1200 years ago that Pythagoras didn't know about 2500 years ago. Time travel has not yet been invented to fix these historical screw ups."
And you used man because you are a woman.......on/.?
Seriously though, you probably used white because you have been made to feel guilty for something you never did to people who are no longer alive. Isn't the media wonderful!
Considering the variablity in water temperatures is far less than in air. Having read the article I would endeavor to say the man is an idiot (although I admit the possibility I am). Firstly he assumes that animals that have a fairly different set of inputs should have a brain structure like humans. Then, he puts forth the notion that an animal that jumps out of its enviroment and dies is more intelligent than ones that get caught in nets. This would appear to be analogous to the difference between humans being abducted by aliens, and humans catapulting themselves into space without life support. On third thought, can someone please prove that I am an idiot? It would lbe preferable to trying to decipher how this got news coverage.
"Linux has a better chance of winning the Desktop Wars on the Corporate Battlegrounds..." Although I can see the truth in this, it's a little bit depressing. I can imagine a future where FOSS is used in the corporate world and home users are still stuck with having to use Windows/Mac because the entertainment industry has successfully locked FOSS out. It would be sad to see all the efforts of the FOSS community culminating in a better bottom line for the business world.
Mmmmmmm, I had a little trouble adjusting to the Gnome interface as well. KDE is a lot easier to swap from windows to. For ftp I have been using Kget as a download manager. You can download it by clicking on the Synaptic Package Manager, enter password, search kget, and install. It should appear under your Internet option in the Applications menu. With Kget you can start and stop downloads, etc... It can also act as the default download manager for Konqueror but isn't integrated into Firefox. Usually I just right click on the file I want to download, select "Copy Link Location", and then in Kget go to the File menu, click on Open and paste the link in there. That is about all I use it for so if you want to know what else you can do with it you'll probably want to read the manual, look in the Ubuntu forums, or (even better) join your local Linux Users Group and ask them.
1611 version In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And the version I used.... In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep, And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
Same version, different times, still differences. Note the second one has been modernised. You could say that I shouldn't just copy and paste off the internet, but that would prove my point as well. Things change.

New International Version In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness he called night. And there was evening, and there was morning-- the first day.
And thats just from two versions in english. Fairly similar, but changing.
There are a couple of other uses that come to mind. How about a fake presidential declaration of war, a nulclear strike on the U.S., casting doubt on bad footage, demonizing an enemy, child porn, incriminating political opponents, or blackmail? Or even better, embedded reporters.
Untrue. None of them have been devout Christians. Read your "Thou shalt nots", match them to your political leaders and cry. You also forgot the rest of the world.

Apologies. I wasn't sure how many Americans would know what rugby was.
Yes. Scott's hut is being cleared of snow before it collapses.

:).
Probably a very aptly named release
"52,000 pine trees worth of energy every day".......wtf? I really hope that was a misprint. Maybe you meant all the average computers in the world?
Find a way around having a fan in the power supply would be good though.

Does anyone know the time line of this compared to openSUSE dropping going to ext3? I haven't been on the net for a couple of months.

But will be, if it hasn't already.......

Pray tell, good sir, if there is no right to privacy in a public place why I cannot take off their clothes?

They must be fairly low. I've never ended up on a star ship.

Stangely enough, the "Click this" link at the bottom of some of the stories has been pissing me off though.

Blackboard works just fine with Firefox. Go to the browser test and see.
gnuLinEx is spanish for GNU Linux.
But I don't think he's qualified to talk about it and, personally, I'm not qualified to comment on it.

"The ability of man to fool himself is unmatched." Absolutely. Its really lucky all that oil is around, isn't it.
Why didn't you make your own? I accidentally discovered electrolysis at a young age and had a world of fun. Just pressurise a ballon with it.

Found that here. Might be a place to start.
