"Mommy, I'm really worried about grandma. She couldn't remember my name this morning. Is she sick?"
"It's fine honey, that's not alzheimers, grandma is straight buzzin from her medicinal doobie."
"We don't want you to feel interrogated."
Frankly, I'd rather know when I'm being I interrogated. That way I can be protected from self-incrimination. I heard somewhere that I should be able to do that...
Wait, how are my options shallow? And how does your reason not fall under "uninterested"? There are many reasons why one would be uninterested in casting a ballot. It doesn't have to be that they don't care about politics. I myself may not cast a vote for the presidential election, but I'll still vote on propostions et al. I'd vote for a third party, but the candidate from the third party that represents my views has a poor track record doing so.
I don't think "disenfranchised" is the appropriate word here, as it connotes blame lying directly on the ones administering the vote. To lessen the flames here we can admit that a small percentage of people truly are disenfranchised by government processes. The large majority of those who didn't vote were just too lazy or uninterested. The only blame we can lay at the government's feet for those is in our backwards education system. But that's another story.
We tried it, but just couldn't get that horrible taste out of our mouths. Except Apple, we couldn't stop the horrible taste coming out of their mouths.
Wow, this cop thing is straying pretty off-topic. I understand you there with mod points who wishes to mark it so.
Let me say first that Mr. Beckerman has contributed much to a cause that many of us here care about. He has also been key in keeping us up-to-date on the vagaries of the popular music cartel. He deserves any support we can give him.
On cursing coppers: I think we might all be a little better off with cops who acted more like your average citizen. So many of our policemen (It's a nueter pronoun, get over it) have drank this "make them feel as though you have a right to make them give up theirs" kool-aid. Wouldn't it be nice to feel like the police were regular citizens that sacrificed to make sure our rights are protected? I for one often feel like they've become hall-monitors looking for any reason to harass the populace in the name of law and order. Imagine if instead of making you feel interrogated, they pointed out succinctly that you're being an ass.
Seriously. When do I get my next item/puzzle-based single player game?
Day of the Tentacle is still one of my favorite games of all time. Did anyone else have that LA variety pack? Had Sam and Max, DOTT, Fate of Atlantis. Several others as well.
Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I remember having a lot of fun with these titles. Not to mention Dark Forces. That was the FPS yeah?
Mostly I think new technology is becoming a burden to games. So much is focused on being visually and operationally stunning that much is lost in actual story and gameplay.
When am I going to get a (-1 Astroturf) moderation choice?
Defending the RIAA is worse than working directly for them. At least their employees have big piles of money to sate their burning consciences.
I'm all for artists making money for their work. This is one of the best reasons to be anti-RIAA. Besides raping record sales for the majority of the profits, they are pursuing a broken business model by throwing more of their members' money at it. DRM, lawsuits, propaganda, legislation, buying politicians: these are the death knells of a business. See: SCO.
Where is this "majority" concept coming from? Now given, I'm your average/. junkie reading comments on his phone, so no, I didn't RTFA. Is there some survey results in there showing that more people want no cell use on planes than do?
Does anyone believe that in today's society a majority of people wouldn't use their phones given the chance?
What games? With a little patience, most games can be run in Linux.
Note: I am looking to help this person make the shift to Linux, I'm not arguing that Windows games "just work" in any distro. It does take some jerry-rigging and trial-and-error; however, there are many good guides and it's completely worth my time to help someone figure it out.
Yeah, except sudo actually works to keep the average user safe. Unlike in Windows where the average user (read: pretty much every Windows box I've ever seen) runs as root all the time.
Talk about a Triple Play. Knew someone would catch them package shaping one of these days.
That's why you need redundancy. Do I hear 2 atoms?
LOL. I guess I should have used some sarcasm tags. I was saying that you should look to the people whose jobs are most dependent on prohibition.
Ask your local law enforcement and prison guard unions. They have pleanty.

If only we could have readers on the street to protect ourselves from these adults' contents. H.I.V-chip
He surely won't learn his lesson until after Daikatana is released.

Oh come on!
With "Plan 69 from Outer Space" so readily available?
You could even have the male lead be Ed Woody
I know there are people here who have thought through the ramnifications of this longer than I have. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Why isn't this guy just a smart cookie for jumping on this domain before the city of Chicago or the IOC did?
Makes me wish I had.

My neighbour is spying on me!
How do you mean sir?
Well, see, I was peaking out my curtain...

Surfing on the Blackberry, so don't really know if this got mentioned. Fantastic for readers of any age, but targetted to chitlins.
The Redwall series by Brian Jacques is fantastic youth fantasy as well.
I don't know man... Sounds like a pretty hard way to go out.
Actually, I see this as an excellent opportunity for a Sony marketing campaign.
"If Americans don't buy all the PS3s, the terrorists win."
But the mens' favorite shows are on during peak farming hours.
Agreed. It is certainly the problem that both sides need to deal with firstly.
Both sides are using BAD SCIENCE by not coming at the problem objectively.
