Fuzzy is from very near my home town. He is a fine man and not the type of person you claim. Professional golfers make most of their money through endorsements and not by winning at golf (though this does help!). It's not too hard to imagine that such defamatory remarks could, in fact, harm him financially. I think he has good reason to sue the person responsible.
Your opinion, that this might not be the most productive way to clean up a tarnished image, may have some merit. The manner in which you asserted it reveals that you are the "utterly infantile" person in this conversation.
I hope you all realize that most Slashdot readers (being tech geeks) will fall into this top 2% figure eventually?
Most of the world is dirt poor. Is that my fault? Fuck no its not.
These people have to raise themsleves out of poverty. If the government is holding them down, then they need to do something about that as well. A LOT of people died fighting for what we have. We do not need to feel guilty about it.
The person who wrote this article is probably a commie asshat.
You could take some action to improve the acoustics of the server room itself. For example, sound absorbing ceiling and wall tiles, rugs, and sound deadening panels. Putting the panels on wheels allows you to move them and create quieter work zones inside the datacenter as needed.
I think this just shows that the RIAA's policy of running thousands of cases at a time is causing them to be sloppy. I give this tactic about another year. After that, there will be enough case law to make prosecuting these cases unprofitable for RIAA.
Warriors do what they do. Sometimes that means they die. The military wanted this fight just as badly as the Bush administration did.
In the end, the military will consider the whole affair a first class training opportunity. A battle tested and hardened army is a very very valuable thing.
Yet again, we appologize, those responsible for sacking the people who had just been sacked, have been sacked. The remaining business will be managed by 10,000 llamas.
Our Democracy is not perfect. It never has been.
We do however have a free press and a legal system that allows this kind of thing to be addressed.
Last point, show me a better system or shut up.
I've lived in Indiana most of my life and I can tell you that, under our current governor, this is all about money. Most of our public schools are terribly underfunded. The motivation to save money anywhere possible is what is driving the Linux migration. Anyone want to lease a tollroad?
Indiana has been making steady progress in transforming itself into a center of technology innovation. Some of the largest companies in the world are based in Indiana and the military technology sector in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne is unbelieveable. Pharma, Def-Tech, Orthopedics, etc. Indiana is a leader in all these fields.
Yes, we do grow corn here and a lot of it!
BTW, we've been trying to give the Gary region near Chicago to Illinois for years but, they won't take it. So it's currently available for anyone wanting to take over the payments....
at the constitutional convention!
This gets brought up every couple of years and will never get rattified by the states.
The electoral college is about making sure the smaller states get proper representation. It's up to the states to determine how their electors should (not must) vote.
A couple of states split their electors proportionally. The vast majority of states go with an all or nothing approach. Both methods are constitutional.
While performing maintenance on our VMS system, I discovered that a number of users where using the DECnet software to store personal files on the server. So I sent a politely worded email to the entire user base (100 or so users). I noted that the personal use of the server resources was not allowed and asked everyone to kindly remove their files from my server. At the end of the message I volunteered that anyone who was having problems with not having enough personal disc space should contact me personally for assistance. Unfortunately, I misspelled the word "disc", replacing it instead with the word "D!@k". The first call I recieved was from the general manager of the company...
Being able to charge for QoS will bring more (telco) players to the table which will drive down the costs of any bandwidth charges. Remember supply and demand anyone? In the mean time, the Internet TV and movie broadcasters won't be screwing us all by hogging up every available bps.
Let's face it folks, the Internet doesn't build itself. We pay for it (ultimately). I do think that any QoS surcharges need to be capped and regulated to prevent abuse.
Cartman: Who's that? Canadian: It's Scott. (He works at the mint.) He's a d1ck.
Easy, Install a Wireless node/repeater at the top of the hill...
Avast! I can hardly wait to smite you scallywags and keelhaul ya'.
The first time I played the "secret cow level" in Diablo II, I almost fell off my chair laughing.
The halberd wielding cows chasing you going mooo!! was hilarious.
If you hearded them together, you could use the exploding corpse spell to virutually annihilate them.
Anti-Trend,

I was going to suggest this myself. If I had any mod points you'd get one.

Your tinfoil hat is crooked. Super glue works best.

10,000 RPM should do it.
Is that a red dot next to you?
Hey! That was my "SupaSecret" DRM hack.
You owe me $1,000,000 for violating my IP on violating IP.
Why is it looking at my butt? Talk about invasion of privacy!
