In addition to that, after Square 'Defected' to Sony Yamauchi (The then President of Nintendo) was So pissed, he vowed not to ALLOW any Square games on 'His systems'. After he retired, Iwata (Current President of Nintendo) went to Square to bury the hatchet. Now We have Sqaure games on each Nintendo platform (Cube, Wii, GBA, DS).

There is no reason why Square CAN'T go multiplatform to make the most money in this gen.

Also the Final Fantasy Core series 1-6 is/has been/ or has been announced to be released for the GBA / DS.

Keep in mind, A "Final Fantasy Exclusive" is more valuable to Sony than to Square. Square can and has been going multi-platform.

If Final Fantasy XIII or Kingdom Hearts goes multiplatform it will do little to hurt Squarenix, but will do MASSIVE DAMAGE to Sony.

Ubi loves the Wii). Though you may not have specific developers at launch like Square or Rockstar, you still have some strong 3rd party support.

I just wanted to point out that the SD card they have in the Wii bundle is unessesary. The Wii doesn't NEED any expansion storage either. It comes with 512 megs of onboard flash memory for Saves and downloads.

While that may not sound like alot compared to the PS3 or 360 Harddrives, you could buy EVERY virtual console game available through the end of the year and save files for every launch title, and still have space to spare. It's inclusion in the Wii bundle is unessesary from an end user standpoint.

Even though MS hasn't been able to sell in Japan, Sony's meager launch of 80,000 PS3 units will be crushed by the Wii The day it launches. With a healthy level of Wii's in the pipeline Nintendo will be the market leader in Japan through the holiday and likely the 1st 3-6 months of it's lifespan. Sony's only hope is to get their manufacturing issues fixed before Nintendo has "Too much of a lead" and developers "Follow to money to the larger userbase" as they did with the PS2.

Agreed. There is a reason that 3 other manufacturer's (MS, Nintendo, and Sega) all put their Analog sticks in the primary position. For 3D games, that's where they belong. I can understand how it happened though, the PS1 controller was only slightly modified from an SNES controller. Then they wanted to add analog support, and didn't know where to put it. Why they left it on the PS2/PS3 in this configuration I have no idea. To me this is a cap in the 360's favor as I would rather interface with that for hours at a time (or a Wavebird, or a Guitar) than the Dual shock or Sixaxis.

The Gamecube had 480p support for virtualy EVERY 1st party game (I have yet to come across a 1st party game that didn't), and many 3rd party even if it didn't have it labled on the back of the box. Even the Gameboy player supported progressive scan. What was increasingly scarce was 16:9 widescreen, but there were some Gems. Eternal Darkness, Starfox Adventures, and F-Zero GX were particularly nice (and supported both).

The issue was that the Gamecube used a non-standard digital port for component cables and only sold them online (not at retail). So eventually they removed the 2nd port from the Gamecubes that were being manufactured (sometime in Late 2003) due to 'very few people buying the cables'. Despite this they still program their games to do 480p, so if you were fortunate enough to have an old enough Gamecube, and bout the cables online before they were discontinued (like me) you can still enjoy the new releases in progressive scan.

Even though the Wii isn't puishing HD, Nintendo is offering the Component cables (online only again! ARGH!) and their standard is both 480p and 16:9.
