Or off topic The article was not about whether you want to play games and keep windows. It was about not having to pay the microsoft tax if you don't use windows.
I started with SuSe and moved to Debian within two weeks. The hardest thing for me as a noob was setting the fstab. If I had paid more attention to the installer, it would have been a lot easier.
But I usually install Debian on my friends computer and then let them maintain it. I have never had any problems (except people complaining about the lack of flash 9 which is now available (and in the Debian repos.)
And to those who would claim that human life is more precious than animal life... why? Because our advanced brain allowed us to creatively exploit and ravage mother nature as opposed to those stupid, underevolved animals who live in harmony with her? Please
Actually, yes.
And if you are going to put God in '' at least get the case right.
I think they outdid themselves. They didn't expect the towers to actually fall (not that they lost any sleep over it) and now that is difficult to trump.
If the terrorists had stuck with how they operate in the middle east (bus bombs, mall bombs, etc) I think that this would have had a much more lasting effect and have been easier to follow up on.
Now if a bus was bombed it would seem anti-climatic next to the towers and most would shrug it off (well not those in the bus of of course.)
At least it is not following Mepis, possible Kanotix and Linspire and becoming another "me-too" Ubuntu based distro (which is itself a me-too Debian distro.)
I have to say one choice per app instead of overloading a distro with 5 choices on everything.
Most distro's it is easiest enough to add a new package and adding a few packages is a lot easieer than removing 30
What are you talking about? QEMU can be used to install both XP and 2000. (Runs slow though.)
That's my new sig. Thanks!
I think people are just tired of Ubuntu being worked into every conversation. The Ubuntu fanboys are getting as bad as the gentoo fanboys
You forgot to name the "counterexamples."
I prefer to pretend the TNG movies never happened. Other than that I agree with much everything you wrote.

I though that was the plan for Vista

Mozilla is devoloping a reputation of not liking to work with others. I lost faith after the Debian buisness.
No it doesn't work
I always recomend Debian
I was thinking this guy has too much time on his hands.
Your wrong. RTFM
It should have been
Why is becoming a Debian me too comment interesting but a Ubuntu me too comment flamebait?

Bart: You just shot zombie Flanders
Homer: He was a zombie?

Well that's not really a change is it?
What doesn't cause cancer?

The same way ID software and Unreal do I imagine.
Or it shows why Debian and Debian based distro's don't like to wait for mozilla for a fix.
I set my agent ID as firefox in Konqueror but the exploit didn't work. Damn, on of the few things user agent can't emulate.
