There have been several MMO-FPS hybrids, though none have been able to compete with the big MMOs, as far as player-base would go. It is unlikely that a Fallout MMORPG would be able to achieve as many as 1M subscribers, especially in a year. Even 100,000 subscribers would be an accomplishment.
The 12 year olds quickly discover that they just need to beg their parents long enough to get GTA. I've seen plenty of parents get 17+ (M rated) games for their young children. Their rationale seems to be that their kids have seen it all before from television.
Are you kidding me? This is VERY accurate stuff we're talking about. In recent news, the US knew the exact moment that our population reached 300 million.
Yes, I'm sure this seems a bit silly. However, Halo 2 sold many millions of copies. I'm sure that die-hard fans would shell out more money for a "legendary" edition, and I'm sure they've been asking for more. The way I see it, Bungie is just responding to what people want.
Global Warming doesn't involve a large change in temperature, from what I gleamed from my biology professor. Even an increase of 1-2F would have a drastic effect on the planet.
Our money is far, far better spent learning to cope with a warmer planet
We're going to have a hard time surviving if we can't grow any food.
There is a relationship between a person's BMI and how well they did on this test, but that doesn't mean that one thing caused the other. I'd want to see more information on how they were tested first, and if variables like level of education were kept under control. At least in America, our poorest and least educated are at the greatest risk of obesity, at least in part because the cheapest food is the unhealthy food.
I am not a phenomenal writer but I'm sure that I'd be much worse if it weren't for years of writing essays. Bloggers can spew out the same load of crud over and over without improving because they don't have a teacher to review their writing and make suggestions. It's very difficult to look at your own work and see how it can be improved. That's why even professional writers recieve help from editors.
Hmm... you're right. Unless their offspring was infertile, they'd have to be the same species. Even then, the two species would have to be very similar in genetic structure.
To my knowledge, the only thing violent TV viewing or violent game playing has been proven to cause is a desensitization to violence. There is a link between hours spent playing games or watching TV and violent acts, but a link does not necessarily mean that one causes the other. A lot of people who become violent live in an environment where they aren't given much guidance, so they spend their time watching TV and playing games and never gain a sense for what's "right" and "wrong".

If the polar ice caps melt, I think hydrogen power will be the least of our worries.
No. I have enough insurances I have to pay for.
The danger of tailgating an 18 wheeler is that they may be unable to see you. You don't want to get into a collision with one of them.

I see he's tagged as "Dr. Stephen Colbert" in the credits, anyone know what his subject is?
Colbert has a doctorate in truthiness.
Bill O'Reilly's reality is having phone sex with one of his terrified female associate producers.

ARRRRGH I AM RIGHT YOU ARE A RACIST! But, just in case I'm wrong, (ad hominem).
I'm surprised that something like this hasn't come out yet for parents. I know that my mom would have liked to know where I was at all times.
Maybe your tubes were clogged.
The PS3's boomerang controller was cooler :(

Why does higher education always seem to involve a lot of alcohol?
This is the greatest thing I have ever read on slashdot. I have been waiting for years to see him get what's coming to him.

I, for one, welcome our new robot musicians.

The value of something abstract like music is determined by what we're willing to pay for it.
Think of it as akin to Bush's tax cuts... we're pumping money back into the economy!
This study recieved funding from NBC Universal and the MPAA. Why am I having a hard time taking it seriously?
