I have a dream that my four little computers will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their case, but by the content of their harddrives.
How long before your touchscreen device recognizes your fingerprints, and then transmits audio/video and GPS coordinates to the authorities? I love big brother, as it were.
Didn't Mitnick do this 8 years ago with Art of Deception. Even the title is sort of stolen. Is there anything new in here that hasn't already been written about by one of the world's greatest social engineers?
If you look closely at the front of the book, you will see a recommendation by Mitnick. Also, if you read the review, it explains how this is different from Mitnick's book.
"Two of the most popular books to date on social engineering to date have been Kevin Mitnick’s The Art of Deception: Controlling the Human Element of Security and The Art of Intrusion: The Real Stories Behind the Exploits of Hackers, Intruders and Deceivers. The difference between those books and Hadnagy, is that Mitnick for the most part details the events and stories around the attacks; while Hadnagy details the myriad specifics on how to carry out the social engineering attack. "
I thought the movie was excellent. I just really enjoy the whole premise. The only disappointing part was that it was 3D. This is the first 3D movie I have seen since I was a kid, and I found it largely distracting. The polarized lenses made it hard to see in some of the darker scenes... and they seemed to give me a headache after the 2+ hours.
I also really enjoy retro video games, so this movie really appealed to me.
Not to mention that for all the time he spent subjectively in the computer world, hardly any time passed in the real world. He was never noticed missing.
They addressed that in the movie. When Flynn Jr. walked in, and said "long time", his dad said "You have no idea." -- Later they talked about the time relationship. Something like: "You can spend hours on the grid, and only a few seconds pass by in the physical world."
Two chicks at the same time. I wonder if my brain scan would point me in that direction.
I like people who do it the old fashioned way. Take entertainers. We don't need a test to tell them whether or not they should be doing that. That takes the fun out of it.

I am not so sure I would want google to see/store any brainstorming my company is doing. I know they are not evil, and have great privacy policies... wait... what?
Actually failure to appear can be a big deal, even with some traffic tickets. It varies state to state, but most places will require your appearance for excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI, etc.
When a driver fails to appear in court on misdemeanor traffic offenses
If a person is charged with a misdemeanor traffic offense and fails to appear in court, in most instances the following will occur:
* the judge will issue a warrant for that person's arrest;
* the bail deposited will be forfeited and the case will be continued for the entry of a judgment of the bond forfeiture; and
* the Clerk of the Circuit Court will notify the defendant of the new court date.
I have the non-wireless version of this router (BEFSR41)
Does anyone know if affects that too?
It will only affect routers that have the DD-WRT firmware loaded on them. You have to load that firmware yourself, so you would more than likely know if this flaw affected you.
In reality I would wager less of the dd-wrt routers would get patched, but only because a lot of them were deployed by non-professionals who will likely not see the news.
That is a good point, but I would have to disagree. I think that if someone is going to deploy DD-WRT, they would probably be as likely to see an article or two on it. Most of the people I know that use DD-WRT are geeky security types anyway.:)
You can download the speedtest widget, and load it on a webserver, and then use that to test your speed.

That has been going on since the advent of language. Walk into a crowded room... "HAS ANYONE SEEN MY KEYS?!?"
:)
Nothing new...
It would be fun to watch them battle it out.

Shut down all of the law schools for 10 years. This is getting ridiculous.

Never, never, NEVER watch Netforce. I didn't even finish it.

But, thanks for playing!
L0pht phoned from 1998, they want their story back.

Sorry, I read your comment in the wrong context. I thought you were saying that this was a problem, not using it to refute the previous post. :)

I have been instructing users to use passphrases, instead of passwords. Something like:
"I have 3 children, and 2 of them are boys."
That is actually a lot harder to crack than d5*wnkf8Vis324

Haha! That is the first thing I thought of too. I came here to post that. :-P
Is it just me, or is Google getting scarier and scarier?
I heard about this years ago. I am still waiting on my check from Bill Gates.
I think the nmap.org icon just grew exponentially.

Ok! Ok! I must have, I must have put a decimal point in the wrong place or something. Shit. I always do that. I always mess up some mundane detail.
In racing games, I like to go around the track backwards, and hit the other cars head on.
In the games with skyscrapers, I was always amused by going to some of the taller ones, and just jumping off.
I guess the obvious would be teabagging after a frag.
How do they rank players? Couldn't an expert player just pose as a novice, and win easily?
