  1. Black licorice doesn't get you fucked up on Coffee Flavored Breakfast Cereal · · Score: 1

People would drink dog feces if they got high off of it.

  2. Not entirely true. on Interview with Peter Jackson on LoTR Bloopers · · Score: 1

Those guys may do what they say but the last words out there mouths after doing so are: Is this what you want, Mr. Director?

  3. Sorry there are better directed movies this year. on Interview with Peter Jackson on LoTR Bloopers · · Score: 1

21 Grams, Last Samurai, Mystic River, and The Cooler are just the ones I've seen recently.

I do agree that LoTR is badass but badass isn't a category in the Oscars.

  4. You start getting snail mail too on ACLU Reacts to Privacy Concerns · · Score: 1

I get mail from groups like the Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood, the Democratic and Republican Party, etc.

Looks like most nonprofit groups that rely on donations share addresses.

  5. LA is pretty much balanced on L.A. County Bans Use Of "Master/Slave" Term · · Score: 1

You're thinking of the state which is fucked by the county is doing just fine.

  6. Geez, they had a warrant guys. on Roadside Assistance System Used for Eavesdropping · · Score: 1

They could have just easily "borrowed" the car while this guy went to the movies and installed anything they wanted in the car.

They took the cost saving route on this one but the whole act of recording what goes on in the car has been around for decades.

  7. These things are still around? on The Future Of EyeToy - Spells, GUIs, Grooves? · · Score: 0, Troll

I saw these things at E3 this year and I thought it was the lamest product shown there. Ok, the N-Gage was worse. If someone asks me back then where the eyeToy would be at Christmas time I would have replied: "In hell, or at the very least the trash."

  8. Depends which map you play on The Matrix Going Massively Multiplayer · · Score: 1

There's a couple with flags that can be caputured but not be used as a respawn point.

  9. I'd call PCBS particularly hazordous. on Tanker Truck Shut Down Via Satellite · · Score: 1

Aren't they the most hazordous material ever created by mankind? I agree they don't blowup or anything but I wouldn't want that stuff in my drinking water.

  10. I'd saw A on Tanker Truck Shut Down Via Satellite · · Score: 1

All the really scary stuff couldn't go missing for weeks a at a time without someone noticing. Second, the materials requried for transfering this stuff are probably on a FBI watch list somewhere. Third, hopefully the agency in charge of tracking these things will notice that one of their hazmat trucks has suddenly gone off the air.

I agree that terrorist are generlly not stupid and this is why they use a simple plan.

9/11 worked because they first time they did anything related to their attack the planes were already in the air.

  11. Heh, did you waste a trip to the Mann Village? on 'Matrix Revolutions' Opens Today · · Score: 1

I had bad feelings about this movie and after seeing it I'm glad I stayed in Granada Hills.

  12. Fucking Paul Anderson on More Game To Movie Translations In Progress · · Score: 2, Interesting

Check out his "extensive" filmography. What know the worse of it? George "Night of the Living Dead" Romero was origianlly signed up to write and direct the Resident Evil movie. He even wrote a script. Then some genius at Capcom says, "When has Romero made a movie out of a video game? This Anderson guy made the movie Mortal Kombat so he must be the man for the job!"

    I fucking hate Hollywood.

  13. I use the "standing on my roof method" on Online Fire Tracking? · · Score: 1

And when I do so, I notice that although the flames are about 10 miles away, they look to be an inch high. Guess that makes them about 100 feet tall or so.

  14. But don't forget on Microsoft Officially Shows Longhorn, WinFX · · Score: 2, Insightful
What I don't accept is virus that are automatically executed simply by viewing an email in the preview pane. As soon as you click on it, you're infected.

Microsoft usually releases a patch about 3 months before the viri shows up.

I agree that these flaws should have never been their but I think much of the blame falls on the users.

  15. Hey I'm watching that episode right now. on LG CD-ROMs Destroyed by Mandrake 9.2 · · Score: 1

  16. Thought this was an urban legend. on Traffic Light Control For The Masses · · Score: 1

I live in Los Angeles and we do not have this type of traffic system. A couple of my friends swear by the "flashing the high beams" trick which never works.

Where in the US do this light sensitive traffic signals exist?

  17. I wouldn't on Brill's Contentious ID Card · · Score: 1, Troll

Our personal freedoms are restricted too much as it is. I'd rather live my life with a chance of being blown up by a terrorist rather then live in a police state.

  18. Woohoo! LOTR at the ArcLight! on Slashback: Lamo, Trilogy, Searching · · Score: 1

The ArcLight is a uber-theatre in Hollywood that is part of the Cinerama Dome. This theatre has assigned seating, a resturant, and.... A FULL BAR!. I predict drunked fanboy brawls about 20 minutes into the second movie.

  19. The SRL guys need to make something like this. on Build Your Own Mortar · · Score: 1

Survival Research Labortories are a group of guys in the Bay Area that design and build crazy ass robots that destroy each other and other objects, like cars or perhaps buildings. These aren't battlebots.

My favorite is the Pitching Machine. It's a like a machine gun for 2x4's (the 8 foot long pieces of wood your house is made out of). It's powered by a 500hp Eldorado engine and it can drive around on it's own. It's contolled remotely like a R/C airplane. It can carry about 40 2x4's and fire them about 2 a sec.

  20. Wouldn't that be Neanderthal/Cro Magnon inbreeding on Oldest European Human Jawbone Discovered · · Score: 1

I thought that Cro Magnons (sp) were still pre Homo Sapian.

  21. Nope it's still free. on MPAA Calls for Ban on Screeners · · Score: 1

The studios already show about a million movies between November and perhaps March to members of the Academy. The reason they send out movies is that a lot of these people are lazy fucks. I've met people in the Academy who you'd swear hated the fact that movies even existed. Driving to Westwood to see a screening is way to much effort so they'd rather be fucking hethens and watch them on their TV.

  22. Maybe less movies will get made. on MPAA Calls for Ban on Screeners · · Score: 1
Aren't only high-profile actors/diretors/etc rewarded a percentage of the movie income, while all the others receive the same no matter what?

If they don't get hired because the studio can't afford to make a movie then those guys get nothing.

  23. Anyone know where WASTE gets it's name? on Slashback: Card, Fortran, Legibility · · Score: 1

Is it a tribute to the underground mail system (W.A.S.T.E.) in Thomas Pychon's book The Crying of Lot 49?

If it is that is supremly badass.

  24. Your right, he isn't. on Ask Neil Gaiman · · Score: 1

  25. Our new products will kinda of good, I guess. on Microsoft Works on Search Capabilities · · Score: 1
