Like I already mentioned somewhere up in a reply, its fast and snappy. Love the drag&drop features but totally hate the lack of any adbloc.. never mind.

The browser task manager is awesome. I hope the ff dev team picks up on that and adds it to the next release. I just checked the details of the 10 tabs I have open and its showing a total memory usage of ~58 MB (which is not bad although FF3 has more or less the same stats) but what got my attention was that it clearly showed that the one flash site open was gobbling up the major chunk of that memory space. Nice to know which tab/s is/are screwing up.

One honest question though, Will Google even support an adblock type plugin for Chrome?

Now to test-rape it by opening a multitude of tabs.

Yeah that ticked me off a bit too. I use sygate to block home-calling apps and I was surprised when the alert popped up saying that googleupdate.exe is trying to connect to the net after the installation was already over. Well, that could be to check if I downloaded the latest version (in future) but that process is still running and I don't feel particularly great about it :/

Apart from that, the browser feels really light and fast (but we will see how it stacks up against ff3 once I get to my normal 50+ tabs). I love the drag and drop tabs feature though.

Oh and ADS ARE BACK!!!11 Couldn't they have released a default addon which will block ad.. oh wait.

I just tried this, and although hanging up will eject you... if *while in-call*, the phone user navigates to any non-phone app (ie, safari) then hangs up the call, the phone won't re-lock.

I don't own an iPhone so can't test this claim but probably someone who owns one can test it out.

    1) Wrong. I hate ads as much as anyone but saying that flash is mostly used for ads is ridiculous. It might have been true a few years back but not anymore.

    2) I get what you are saying and I don't totally disagree with it but, again, you are basing your opinion on the last generation of flash websites. Take a look around at some of the newer/popular ones and you will see some really cool stuff along with navigation churned out by the sites around.

    3) I have nothing for or against the flash videos but I like the option of pausing the video and coming back to it after it has finished loading the entire thing. If something else can provide the same with better quality then I am all for it.

The list of things flash is used for would be something like:

    1. Applications (web-based and desktop): Flash + Flex
    2. Games (web-based and desktop): Flash
    3. Websites or parts of it : Flash + Flex
    4. Banners/Ads/other crap : Flash
    5. Videos : Flash

Some of them I could live without, while others seem good enough for keeping the interest in Flash alive.

    YMMV etc.

What are you talking about? There is a "clear list" button right where it should be in the download manager(3.0.1)

But apart from that I agree that it will be stupid to change the current functionality to make way for a new one they just cooked up. Ctrl+Tab is way more convenient to switch between tabs than Ctrl+pgDown and I don't think the performance of a fancy filmstrip thumbnail thingy is going to be as good as a simple tab switch, specially when you are one of those who surf with a ton of tabs open.

I really don't understand this new thinking in the ff dev team. Sure, it may look fancy and some people may actually switch to use it instead of the ol' tab switch but why change the current settings and piss off the users who are already used to it. If you want to add this functionality this much then give it a different key combo and give an option in the setting/config to change it if the user wants to later on. Saying something like "a new tab-switching behavior that will force some users to change their habits" comes off as really arrogant as doesn't do any good for their image.

You totally missed the point. Something is true irrespective of whether its "truthness" has been verified or not. Its a good idea to go with only the set which has been verified using whatever sources/procedures we deem necessary but that doesn't mean that everything out of that set is not true.

Ofcourse, it gets murky very fast when you bring crackpots and/or religion into it but then that is the reason why we go with only the set of the verified truths. Just that it pays to think of the possibility that something unverified could also be true, whether we know it or not.
