After the sensor takes the RAW data, the camera processes the image (some noise reduction, curves, and compression) to get a jpg. Since this conversion would vary between manufacturers (or even RAW software) I'd imagine that the process would leave behind similar "fingerprints."
let him pay for the next tier of service. So I paid for my 1.5 Mbit connection, and he's complaining because I'm fully utilizing the resource and not letting him take advantage of my unused bandwidth? Who's the freeloader?
To paraphrase Hitchcock, surprise is when you walk by a window and a zombie jumps through. Suspense is when you know there are zombies lurking, you walk past window after window, but nothing happens
The SLR will also come out ahead when you want to control depth of field, say if you're shooting people outside. You can't get the same isolation with a P&S because the physical aperture is so small.
The article compares MP3 to DRM'ed WMA and MP3 to DRM'ed AAC. Of course the battery life is going to be different, different formats require more or less processing power to decode. For this to be valid they need to compare WMA with and without DRM, or AAC with and without DRM.
It's a trap! They're just doing this so they can get his contact information... Then in the morning he'll find lawyers at his door instead of a new Gamecube!;)
storage review did a writeup a while ago comparing RAID 0 performace to that of a single drive. more often that not you're better off getting a single, faster drive if you're looking for desktop performance.
any reason you'd be getting a tablet over a regular notebook/laptop? and would this be your primary machine, or something that you'd have in addition to a desktop. it's hard to make good recommendations unless we know what you're using this for
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. (IEEE) has approved a new and final draft standard for 802.11g wireless LANs that will have a true throughput for Internet-type connections of between 10M and 20Mbit/sec., far lower than 54Mbit/sec. raw data rate initially billed for the standard.
my friend brian built the thing. he's reading this over my shoulder, so here's what he says:
"to be honest, they kinda blew it out of proportion. it doesn't have much to do with microfluidics. after building a water strider, i wanted to make a snail =b"
Not sure if this is still the case, but you used to be able to buy a prepaid phone with cash.

Wouldn't it just be easier to download the movie instead of risking getting caught shoplifting? =p
He wants to stop fair use, but I'm guessing he doesn't hold the copyright for the picture of Emma Watson that he used in this post on his blog

For games I'd rather see them decrease latency than increase bandwidth. Not sure to what extent that would be possible though
Nixon resigned before he could be impeached. Clinton and Andrew Johnson were the only two who actually have been impeached.
Um, is it just me or does the link go to a post from 2004?

Large blobs of data like all those TV shows that I downloaded ;)
I'm just reading it for the articles...
it's competing with the mini, not the standard ipod. so it has 25% more storage space

great, another protection mechanism that's easily sidestepped by the real crooks but manages to irritate legitimate users
I thought he put the sword in the wall after he realized he missed the date for the grad housing lottery? ;)
oops, here's the slashdot link
