IME schools treat them like the school books as in you break it or lose it or for some other reason fail to return it you get they charge you some rather large and arbitrary number of dollars to replace said item.
They will not press charges theft charges against a student. Thankfully the law allowed us to press charges instead because they CBA to do it.
End result student with a felony because nobody wanted to repay $200.
The school could have stepped in and handled it or the student could have repaid the money but nooooo nobody wants to take responsibility for anything not even apple.
Apple needs to be checking for apple based MDM supervision on their activation lock page. If the device says it's supervised it's stolen! Apple won't tell you that. Nor will anyone tell you that you need to check for it or for that matter even HOW to check for it.
Apple still doesn't mention years after implementing it which is really fucked up. Hey we have this great new anti theft feature for enterprise. Lets not tell anyone about it muahahahaha.
You wouldn't buy a Iphone that had an activation lock the person claiming to own it couldn't turn off right? Same deal with MDM but apple won't talk about it. WTF?
It's a great feature and I like it it's just that if someone asks you hey is this device clear to sell don't outright LIE to people and say it is like apple is doing now with their icloud lock page not checking for it.
I'm going to nitpick here. While OLED screens look great there are a huge number of used phones out there with screen burn-in issues this is a problem LCD displays don't have nearly as good contrast ratios and black isn't really black.
Not everyone can afford to buy the newest phone. So making sure that when the used price drops in a couple years 90% of what's available has angrybirds burned in to the screen does not help matters.
This is great for people that can afford to buy new devices every two years but it really hurts the resale value.
Those are features i've had to disable so the mouse doesn't resize the icons on my desktop and jump me around the page when I accidentally brush it. I'm sure it works well on some but not on mine.
Imho the webpage shouldn't even be able to control that aspect of the browser
The software that hp has been putting on their computers has been slow as crap and laggy for years go ahead try and tick a box during inital setup and watch that thing hang there and stutter at the extra fancy transitions they just had to do but don't happen to sell a computer fast enough to play them smoothly.
Anyway as for your problem you must have one of the newer hp's with the center pin for communication (dells have these too) check and see if your center pin is bent off to the side on your power adapter.
If so just bend it back to the center and your probem is fixed. If the pin breaks you can get a new power adaper for >$20 on ebay. If the pin looks fine you may still want to try another power adaper to see if the problem is there as its the easiest thing to replace.
If none of that fixes it the problem is likely in the power connector on the board if your lucky it's a seperate connector and relatively easy to replace but on most its soldered to the board and a pita to replace. If that doesn't fix it it's something on the board but i've never had that problem with the board.
Anyhow good luck with that warranty thing most everything I get to work with the warranty has long since expired or been voided.
I watched the video a couple weeks ago IIRC it was only talking about crappy games that had gotten great reviews including one that used fake screenshots that weren't actually from the game.
One of the problems i've noticed even back on win7 is a lot of websites are deciding in error (like msft did with win8) that everyone has a touch screen and have thus removed the scroll bar to get an extra few pixels of screen space.
How do I get that back without killing script for the whole page?
I can work around it by clicking in the area and then using the arrow keys but I shouldn't have to.
Sorry I wasn't clear in my intent with that post. I'm one of those people that thinks healthcare should be a right not a privilege.
That's why I find it odd that we will provide care (or at least we are supposed to) for someone convicted and imprisoned for jaywalking but not someone just walking down the street (unless it's emergency care). Criminals are at least legally required to be provided with a minimum of care unlike regular non criminals who are only entitled to emergency care. They also happen to be legally required to have food. A lot of it is our insistence on using for profit prisons and the rest is people just not giving a crap about other people.
Here they have been passing laws to reduce what they consider to be crimes so they don't have to put as many people in prison but I haven't heard of anything being done to improve conditions for the people who still end up there.
Oh cool so then they would be able to weed out unprofitable arrests!
Sir we see you just plowed into a schoolbus and killed 20 people but we see you have this medical condition that's going to cost our department several milion dollars to treat just so you can stand trial so were letting you off with a warning drive safe ok?
I think it's odd that criminals are entitled to at least a minimal amount of healthcare even if they aren't entitled to food that's not moldy.
It might increase early detection and decrease the number of people that die in prison undiagnosed but I doubt it would significantly increase the number of people that need care. Also just to note this comment is based on the US police system you country may vary.
Priority one critical system stuff like NTFS Priority two whatever the user wants to do. Priority tree whatever else needs to be done indexing can go fk itself if a user is active.
These are priorities stuff still runs just a bit slower than it normally does IIRC windows already does this to a point. *checks* Yeah it's done this since at least as far back as windows XP https://www.microsoft.com/reso...
Although It's only a slight priority difference so it's not usually noticeable.
I thought I was doing so well too.

IKR the walmart here is still selling brand new junk with 2GB of RAM.
Aside from that what's a kaby? It looks like someone wanted to type kirby lake and their lawyer got pissed.

Yeah scroll wheels while awesome aren't common on laptops.

I have to work on saturdays you insensitive clod!
If you have discs: Handbrake. If you purchased a digital copy: Playlater.
Just fyi torrents aren't private and Kat is rebuilding at https://katcr.co/new/
With the exception of playlater (or owning a ios or android device) how can you download movies you've purchased on amazon to watch offline?
What does everyone else use? You know those non-cool people?
*facepalm* You're supposed to pursue happiness not study it.
I live in the US so I have no right to health care unless I need emergency care or I take up a life of crime and get put in jail.
Sorry I wasn't clear in my intent with that post.

That's actually a pretty good explanation.
Why doesn't the parking brake do that? People driving around with the Ebrake on happens quite often.

But can it tell if someone is drunk or under the influence of drugs? If it can this could be a nice side business for the police.
If they can't be deleted then how long can the tablet be used before it runs out of memory?

Next up someone will write a program to keep whatever the current active window is in game mode.
Because whatever the user is interacting with should pretty much always take precedence over what isn't even visible on screen.
