Telemarketers usually only let the phone ring about 3 x so that would be of limited effect Lenny or any other telecrapper implementation would work much better! https://www.reddit.com/r/itsle...
Coverage may be an issue with some carriers but most people will have at least two carriers with good coverage where they live. ATT and VZW work pretty much anywhere where I live anyone else less so. Being the two nationwide carriers they try to demand a bit more for coverage.
Why yes they do! The gas stations here pretty much force you to by making the pumps take 10+ minutes to fill your 15 gallon gas tank.
They do this to force people to go inside out of the heat or cold so they might buy something other than gas since it's not legal to leave your car running while filling (the backpressure on most newer vehicles will cause problems if you try anyway)
You must have missed the part where they were figuring out that you would get 8X as much data for the same price if some of it wasn't zero rated. http://alphabeatic.com/zero-ra...
So you're paying for it but you're not paying for it.
This sounds like a bad argument: We need to have lots of children to keep people from other countries from coming here by keeping them from being able to find work.
But it doesn't do that it just drives wages down further by increasing the supply of labor.
Limited immigration and low birthrates would eventually lower the labor force potentially to the point companies would pay to keep people they have spent the time to train instead of swapping through people like they are disposable.
I'm not against immigration i'm against the current complete fkup of an implementation that's another post though.
I mean I haven't even seen a 3DS in months I just figured they were obsolete or something. You know like the WII and that thing you have to explain is not a handheld the WII U.
The first thing that comes to mind is the ipad line which AFAIK is not able to text or make calls using it's included phone number. I also seem to remember a few air cards over the years that didn't support texting either although I don't remember which ones.
Yeah I noticed that. I wasn't happy with that but I was also disappointed to find neither of the presidential candidates this year wanted to do anything about it.
I was planning on putting in a fleet of oil wells there next week! /sarcasm
That was the intent of the telecrapper.
Lenny is the only currently working telecrapper I am aware of.
Business requirement and it makes fax use easy.
I bought a jf teck caller id with phone ring controller a couple years ago.
It was chosen because it was the only one I could find that was able to handle whitelist only at the time.
There is a phone on both sides of the device so I can turn the ringer off and still get important calls.
So how do I enable this on a landline?
Or ATT still operating under their policy of !@#$ landline users?

Keep them on the line waste their time!
China has no pollution.
Yeah I just thought it was a more relevant example than terminator.
In terminator iirc they weren't trying to build an automated weapon they just ended up with an ai that built them after nuking everybody.
None of the rules they are trying to suggest would even apply to that scenario.

Yes South Korea already has them. (That's the that has lights.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
I'm sure there are many good references but the only one that comes to mind is voyager S02E13 Prototype.
You know the one where they end up getting pulled into a war between robots.
The war ended but the robots kept fighting.
Did the US make any part of it?
It was probably only assembled in the US and by assembled I mean they stuck a sticker on it that said "Assembled in the USA" on it.
Yep lot's of people have been doing that lately.
If only it was that easy to deal with ISPs :P

What? No. Prices on data have been going down in recent years. If your carrier zero rates your prices just didn't go down like the others did.
Pretty neat huh?

Why can't we have both?

Sounds like a fun project any you would recommend with straightforward pricing?
Anyone else notice /. was using an expired ssl certificate earlier today?
I thought that was because mgmt wouldn't let you have a heater under your desk to keep your feet warm.

I would like to know why they are still assigning numbers to devices that can't make use of them.
