Microsoft also innovated the inclusion of the HD in the last generation, which (with Sony's help in the PS3) I think you'll probably see on pretty much every console from now on. Using plain-jane Ethernet for systemlink let any random Joe with one of those $10 Netgear hubs run a 16-player Halo game without having to buy super-expensive custom cables, that's nice also. Xbox Live was already mentioned. The positioning of the analog sticks (much more comfortable than on the Sony controller) is a small, but nice, innovation. There's probably more I'm not thinking of at the moment... of course people like to bash Microsoft, but in general, the Xbox probably has more new console features than the vast majority have had over the older generation.
Really, the most disappointing thing is that Microsoft went and made the HD optional on the 360. Seems more of a step backwards than a step forwards...
At least the Xbox 360 launch had Call of Duty 2 and Oblivion (at least, if you go by Microsoft's definition of "launch title." Given, Kameo wasn't as impressive as it could have been, and Dead of Alive 4, while nice-looking, wasn't that much of a step forward from DoA3... but either way, I think Microsoft's launch sounded a lot better than Sony's upcoming launch.
On the other hand, did Apple ever promise you'd be able to? I mean, you knew what you were getting into before you bought the music, right? It's all documented, and you agreed to the EULA before you clicked the "buy" button.
So Apple is selling the exact product they promised to you-- and you're griping that the product isn't something entirely different. At least, that's what Apple's point of view is like.
I've always kind of wondered how people actually named Yamamoto (or whatever the Japanese name Tom Cruise's eyes came from in Minority Report) reacted at that part of the movie... I bet they were all like, "holy crap! this movie is personalized!"
It's going to get better, though... I hear next week he goes to the Cinerama and digs around in the basement for a while! Compared to all the phone calls in the last 4 episodes, that'll be a real treat.
Well, the simple fact that Garcia took pride in the statement and wasn't in any way offended by it should put this whole "story" in its grave. She's the only one who has the RIGHT to be offended. Well, maybe Arnie also since apparently everything he says in casual conversation is now uploaded to a website somewhere.
It's total BS. The ONLY person who has the right to be offended at this statement is Garcia, and she's on-record as saying she wasn't offended at all by it. So why the hell is he apologizing for a statement that didn't bother anybody? PC crap at its best.
Morrowind on original Xbox had an expansion. Ninja Gaiden (also on original Xbox) actually had two expansions, although they were kind of slim on new content. Many Xbox Live-enabled games have had additional levels, vehicles, characters, etc available for free download, and some have them for paid download. (Right now this moment, there are Oblivion mods on Live Arcade for paid download from Xbox Live Arcade.)
In short, you're wrong. Consoles can have expansions.
Uh, Apple puts widescreen TV shows as widescreen downloads. What makes you think they'll pan&scan the movies? Or are you just spitballing, trying to find a reason to hate this?
The original poster doesn't know what he's talking about.
I was originally going to reply, "no, he's talking about movies that take advantage of a tragedy to sell tickets, like Titanic, Pearl Harbor, and the two 9/11 movies that came out recently. In which case, King Kong and Godzilla make no sense.
You're saying that he's "robbing the graves" of the creators of those movies by doing remakes. But that also doesn't make any sense. The recent Pearl Harbor movie wasn't a remake (it followed in the footsteps of Tora, Tora, Tora!, but not closely enough to be considered a remake); nor was Lord of the Rings, nor were the two 9/11 movies.
So in short: The original poster doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.
From my Linux experiences, I couldn't copy spreadsheet cells even with a mouse with 600 buttons on it. It just plain doesn't work... text you can do, anything else is a big question-mark.
A community that's perfectly happy with EMACS and VI? Who don't see anything wrong when they open the KDE configuration window? Who run an OS that can't even copy and paste anything other than text successfully most of the time?
Uh, how retarded is spending your time and effort in an attempt to take Microsoft-owned assets and convert them to a EA-owned game when you know, you know, that the instant it's discovered by the copyright holder it'll be shut down? I mean duh! If they somehow thought they wouldn't be shut down,... well, they'd pretty much have to be actual retards to think that.
God forgive I happen to think that First Contact was a good movie. I forgot that AKAImBatman is the true and ultimate arbiter of all opinions on this forum.
If you want to get really advanced, you can make a FOR loop and Poke in a different text color for each one:
:)
10 FOR X=0 TO 15
20 POKE 646,X
30 PRINT "BIG TITS"
40 NEXT X
50 GOTO 10
*NOW* you have a good program.
I can think of a few places that might qualify. Redmond/Seattle WA, for instance, or Austin, TX. But... yeah, generally you're spot-on.

If you're going to go to Allofmp3.com, why not just pirate the damned music? It's the same thing, except cheaper for you.

Or maybe not.
Most boring season of 24 yet!
It's going to get better, though... I hear next week he goes to the Cinerama and digs around in the basement for a while! Compared to all the phone calls in the last 4 episodes, that'll be a real treat.
I had a buddy who, for a very long time, lived in his girlfriend's parent's basement! Talk about confusing...

Isn't an iPod screen 320x200? In which case, 640x400 would be exactly four times the resolution of the iPod...

Why not just plug your iPod into the TV? That seems like a better idea all-around.
Well, I guess you better start working on that European computer industry you've been slacking off on for the last 40 years.

The equivalent energy of a baseball thrown at 55 mph... all in a single proton travelling at 99.99999999999999999999951% the speed of light!
Hah! Let's see Barry Bonds hit THIS one!
Whose grave are you robbing when you make movies about King Kong and Godzilla? Did I somehow miss that those were based on true stories? HOLY CRAP!
Good point, and conceded.

They could have at least explained what it compensated *for*. My guess? Poorly-written dialog.
