Question: After a series of substandard releases, could Netscape be on the verge of making of a version of their browser that enhances the awesomeness of Firefox, rather than distracts from it?
No we shouldn't replace them. It's for when us old school users feel nostalgic. Also for when our kids ask us why the save icon looks like that and we tell them, they will be amazed and impressed by our wisdom.
Why not just cut down the number of hours you play? That's what I did. Does it have to be a case off full-on addiction or cold turkey and no grey, in-between areas?
HD-DVD and Blu-ray are so overrated. In the future everythings's going to be going through the internet. People are going to buy streaming video on demand over a cheap and very fast internet connection. No need for storing media and movie companies get royalties from streaming video on demand providers. These 2 optical disk technologies will be a niche.
I do believe that keyboards are very necessary. We use keyboard shortcuts and mice very often when we're not typing short emails. Voice recognition may be accurate but it's still not 100% accurate and you must always have that in the back of your mind, looking out for errors.
I use the dvorak layout on my standard querty keyboard. It's better of course and I'm glad all keyboards are querty be default, since this forces you to memorise the layout and looking at your fingers becomes completely pointless. They should teach the dvorak layout.
This website tells you how to switch to dvorak on your computer: http://www.geocities.com/robm351/dvorak /
hehe, my 2 nieces aged 5 and 7 play unreal tournament and quake 3 regularly and it doesn't affect their behaviour at all except it makes them not bored. you are just being exessively paranoid. violence in video games that affect children is a complete myth.
The original quake had transparent water.. well, if you run a special VIS-pass over the maps and used glquake (or had the power to run a special executable which did it on the fly -- I think -- I never did that though). I played it that way all the time, and it was much fun.
Sprites? Didn't Carmack say he only used three sprites in quake? Or was that quake 2.. no, I think it's the original quake that only had three or so sprites (waterbubbles and something and another).. ah.. I found it on google.
We coded lots of ways for sprites to behave (allways perpendicular, pivot along Z to face origin, pivot on Z to be parallel to view plane, fixed orientation), but we wound up only having three sprites in the entire game: explosions, drowning bubble, and a gold ball light in the registered version....
As for the doom-engine games, there's already DooM Legacy which features TCP/IP network play and split-screen two-player mode on one computer, and more.
What this article shows is that the free software development model is much more efficient than the proprietary model. Linux distros cost less than windows and yet you get much more for your money including: * Office suite - word processor, spreadsheet, drawing, presentation, database, PIM * web server / ftp server / news server, etc * database server * many small and yet fun games * more than one browser and email program * 1,000,000,003 text editors * windows compatible networking including a domain server which is non-existant in win2kpro/xphome
Imaging what would happen if the windows revenue was poured into the free software community.
I'm guessing about 3 months. One thing I've admired about mozilla is their uncompromising quality assurance approach. The fact they took 3 years to get to a stable build shows the tenacity and patience of the quality assurance people. I doubt that they're just going to release RC1 and then release the official 1.0. They'd want to release RC2 and wait for any screams first. If there's silence then out comes 1.0 final.
Please don't be annoyed by this. Remember that there are so many testers out there already. That's the beauty of the open-source community. I would prefer you to be thankful for the fact that there are so many bug reports out there and that you're not one of only a few testers. We (the rest of the community) are thankful for your professional approach. You said "I'm not wasting my time". If you have little spare time like most of us you shouldn't be testing software and reporting bugs. Instead, do what I do, just use the latest stable release or milestone. I onced reported bugs and it was quite tedious. Most of the bugs I've submitted have been resolved or marked as a duplicate. But it was still worth the effort, knowing that I, one of the millions of testers, have played my part. A small part to play is enough when you have many testers.
I suspect starcraft and warcraft III are sharing the same codebase. Why would Blizzard release a patch for starcraft 4 years after a game has been released that added a new feature? The new feature is the replay option. Looks like warcraft III is starcraft with a 3d engine and a facelift. If that's the case then it must be a great game. I'm not going to buy it as it doesn't run on linux.
I'm a gnu/linux user that used to use windows. One thing I missed very much from windows was the ability to run Morpheus. I had to use my brothers windows pc to use Morpheus if what I wanted wasn't available to gnutella.
I've already noticed that there is more traffic in gnutella through the Limewire client. This could be the end for all proprietary file-sharing protocols including Napster.
Good riddance!
The high quality stream has higher frequencies so you can easily hear the noise. The low quality stream clips this high frequency noise out. I actually prefer listening to the low quality stream.
It's gonna first run init innit?
Aaaaargh! Shiver me timbers, It woulda been more fun to make this pirate walk da plank me maties!! Aaaaargh!

Answer: NO
Remember that scene from American Beauty where Col. Frank Fitts is reading the newspaper and says "This country is going straight to hell"?
Well, after reading this article I can now imagine this as the one he's reading.

You can code your web site in compliant HTML 3.2 and not even have to bother browser checking.

This guy just pasted this from here.
For those of you that do not know Robert Jordan, this will give you some idea of how large the books Robert Jordan is capable of writing.

Fuck that, there's nothing going on in the world.

I agree. I would reccommend that people buy the
PowerPack Subscription Program 9.0 for 155USD or 168EURO
from the website:
"you will get your 9.0 version box and receive the complete set of CDs for the two next versions when they become available."
This way, mandrake get's some money and you get the latest mandrake for a while.
Personally I use redhat 8 and will not be buying from or giving money to mandrake.
Here is a faster converging series: ... = 3.14159
(16/5 - 4/239) - 1/3(16/5^3 - 4/239^3) +
I've recently switched to the dvorak keyboard layout by editing the XF86Config file to include this line:
Option "XkbLayout" "dvorak"
but when my girlfriend wants to use the qwerty layout, I boot into windows
this would be a desirable on-the-fly feature for me

Anakin Skywalker lives through this movie!
I couldn't see either superman's home or santa clauses home in any of the photos!
