no really.. i saw the summary and was going to post the same thing. society moved from beer to coffee for their bacteria-free drink of choice why are all these modded funny?
Its meant for quick replies to emails, text messages, and web forums like this one. I'm typing this one my iPhone now and its not taking any longer than on a pc. I had a palm with grafitti and it was painful to even short sentences, so it barely got used. Thats the whole point, if its as quick and easy as a pencil, its more likely to be used.
I hit the wrong buttons all the time. The beauty is, the iPhone corrects me. As long as you type real words, not abbreviations like wtf, omg, brb, and c u l8r, the software will get my sentence right. Don't stop to correct your mistakes. Don't even look at the typed words, look at the keyboard. Just keep typing, and you can be very fast. Use the force.
Charlie: Ray, all airlines have crashed at one time or another, that doesn't mean that they are not safe. Raymond: QANTAS. QANTAS never crashed. Charlie: QANTAS? Raymond: Never crashed. Charlie: Oh that's gonna do me a lot of good because QANTAS doesn't fly to Los Angeles out of Cincinnati, you have to get to Melbourne! Melbourne, Australia in order to get the plane that flies to Los Angeles!

Who says it needs to be limited by this design only? Remember Tron and Ed Dillinger's desk panel? You could easily have the screen at eye level and controls and wrist level. Whatever the case...
Homer tries to explain what the third dimension looks like. Homer: Uh... it's like... did anyone see the movie 'Tron'? Hibbert: No. Lisa: No. Marge: No. Wiggum: No. Bart: No. Patty: No. Wiggum: No. Ned: No. Selma: No. Frink: No. Lovejoy: No. Wiggum: Yes. I mean... um, I mean, no. No, heh.
I think Microsoft is more concerned.....with people using the lower-priced versions of Vista in virtualization environments they don't understand - on any platform - and then expecting support in such environments.
OEM versions of Windows don't get Microsoft support, they get the OEM's.
history books? ever seen "The Pepsi Halftime Show"? most sports have the commentator's desk with a plasma screen front that has whoever's big ass logo on it
I wonder if Microsoft's voice recognition software could do this in real time. Their software is top-notch and lets set so double the killer delete select all.
I can't speak for you or the grandparent post's author, but I like to leave the house occasionally. A laptop is a good decision for people who occasionally stand, walk, or otherwise engage in self-locomotion.
You must be new here. (Your low ID# suggests otherwise!)
yikes! if i just picked up this device and tried to use it, i would never know about the top-bottom and left-right gestures. even after watching it, i still couldnt tell you how to get to the contact page or main menu. also note how many times the software incorrectly hit a button instead of sweeping and vice versa. also its funny how much of those 320x240 pixels are taken up by the windows media border & buttons
My local cable co switched from Passport Echo software to Guideworks iGuide about a year ago and it sucks. Crashes, loss of simple features like using the guide to see what i just missed, user interface hell, and hard drive that says "21% remaining" yet wont let you record. I want my passport back!
What do you mean? Plan 9 is alive and well.

If you add up the 3 windows versions, and the 2 mac versions, you get the opposite trend:

I stopped reading when I got to "Blu-tooth". Their credibility just went down the toilet with the Blu-water
