    What's more likely: Standardization (which involves Microsoft working in cooperation with apple and Linux developers) or North Korea just saying "oh sorry, my bad, here's the nukes". Not too sure where I'd vote!!

    So I can throw a ball from one browser window to another, so I can have the Google home page fall to the bottom of my screen in a heap....WHAT'S THE POINT?
    Firefox and it's addons allow me to do anything that I want and more. Although I do like Google chrome I'm sticking with Firefox. They develop for the sake of improvement and not just for the sake of "look at me!!" like apparently Google does.

    I wonder about detection rate. If someone is lying, how long would it take to detect the lie based on body odour, it's not like it would change in a second. This makes me wonder just how useful this would be?

    not that I don't agree that there is a point to a flexible, paper-like, touch sensitive screen but they already have something that does what you describe. Look up smartboards, they're amazing and do all that you mention!

    I believe the odds of being hity by a falling satelite, or other type of space junk, are approximately 1,000,000,000 times higher than the odds of being hit by dark comets. That and we can't do anything about it. I choose to live in my little bubble where nothing bad will ever happen :)

    We could OCR a book years ago and Mac has had a text to speech reader for decades. I remember using a Mac plus is grade school and typing in a phrase and having the computer read it to me out loud. So why are they belly aching now??? As was stated by another ./ user...TO HELL WITH THEM!!

    For your information, based on TFA, the zero carbon emission is for the WHOLE city. There will be come components of the city that emit / produce carbon and others that absorb it. The idea is an OVERALL zero emission.

    I would say that a more harsh approach is needed. I like the idea but I say a 2 or three strikes and your out method would be more effective. In other words, if thery respond to one fake spam ... one strike...another...two strikes and if they respond to a third...SEND THEM PACKING!!

    I too have tried many store bought devices with little to no luck. What I find works the best is the toothpaste method that has already been talked about. Rub it on the shiny side and then rince in water. What I have to add is that you should try it with a GET toothpaste first, it is less abrasive. If that doesn't work use standard toothpaste and if that doesn't work I would let a professional give it a try.

    So you say that it's a requirement to build freeways, airports and parking lots. We have to pollute and destroy the natural habitat of animals to survive? Clear cut logging is a necessity of life? Really?? That's news to me!! Yes we have a natural tendency to expand and better ourselves but if it's at the cost of nature and teh planets health is it not too high a cost? I've got a degree in computer science, I'm the last one who wants to live in the stone age as you say I do (hope that made you feel better about yourself!) but there should be a limit.
