I was never really a raider, my first Kara trip was also the same day I quit for the first time...
When I started playing again, I discovered that all the s1 gear (for honor at that point) was better than the loot from Kara, which I promptly got and started playing the arena.
the PvP gear let me stay above (DPS-wise) most of the PvE geared raiders I was with. It amused me greatly.
I don't play WoW anymore, but I felt like pointing that out.
I quit shortly after 2.4, the new dailies made the last stretch of my farming for my epic flyer pretty easy. After I got it, I only used gold for repairing my arena gear and for the occasional Kara/ZA raid.
Its not that the game alienated me in any way after 2.4, overall I think the patch was a good one. It just so happens that the game is entirely too addictive for someone like me.
Maybe you recall an article from not too long ago about different nations and their comparative access speeds and penetration and whatnot? In South Korea, the average connection speed was like 60-70mbp/s with something like 80+% of the population connected to the internet...
So, I think that our ISP's need to get their asses in gear and provide better service, not to keep dividing a small pie into increasingly smaller pieces.
Perhaps DPI as a rule isn't used for spying, but in the context of stopping or slowing P2P, it is only a matter of time before your ISP is on the RIAA/MPAA payola and is producing DPI spreadsheets for the said spying.
Personally, I'm against my ISP doing anything other than providing a cable to my house.
When it comes to technology, I agree that we DO take it for granted. Even while I'm more technically skilled than the majority of my peers (eg. w3 languages, 'fixing' Windows, hardware setup) I really have no interest in a technology specific field of career.
As a home-schooled senior (I dropped out of pubic) I plan on becoming a nurse, where I can put my critical thinking skills and person skills to use in an instant gratification sort of style.
I DID spend 3 hours debugging a company website yesterday and while I have the necessary skills, I'll leave the tedious background work to the Indians if they prefer.
And the mass media scores big again!

I hear you, I kinda like myself again now that I'm clean....
But for some reason my girlfriend is clamoring about WotLK. I think its because she can get her level 22 mage a haircut.
A family member of mine works at UNCC and he deals with the a similar policy, all of their "obsolete" equipment gets sent to a warehouse.
The only way to get the stuff out of this lockup is to buy it through a NPO.
We've liberated a few of the PC's by funneling them through our church. Hell, it's even tax deductible!

Anyone else immediately think of Bill and Ted here?
I was rather shocked at the intro of Episode 2, where there actually WAS a cut-scene.
Ok, I was 'correcting errors' in a generated web page. Happy now?
It probably does, but I'm not going to spend an hour looking for a rogue typo.

Seriously, I've been using this site for a couple months now and now its kaput.
Damnit. I guess I'll just have to find the episodes on rapidshare now.
I wouldn't pass up the entire extended universe though, the Yuuzhan Vong invasion was pretty good.
I stopped playing about halfway through, the constant Morse code noises were driving me insane.
Who woulda'thunk it?
At least OO can use Microsoft's templates! (they look and behave a whole lot better)
are they, as a corporation, not allowed to have political leanings?
Ever heard the phrase "There's only room enough for one of us in this town" ?
