How does pure (read, I suppose, laissez-faire) capitalism even comes close to recognizing artificial entities such as corporation? The very fact that an institute of a corporation exists -- that is, is recognized by law -- is itself an indication of governmental involvement, and thus a restriction on the famed "free market". And it's all downhill from there, isn't it?
Major premise: A person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Minor premise: OJ was not proven guilty in the court of law. Conclusion: OJ is innocent (legally speaking; your opinion may vary, of course)
The only people who have anything to fear are those that are trying to hide something.
Since when is trying to hide something a crime? And when was the last time you told your mummy all the details about your latest sexual experience (provided you had any)? What? You don't tell your mother that? What have you got to hide?
Yeah, because no one who was telecommuting can spend a few minutes/hours on the phone finding a lawyer who would do free consultation. Or call the local department of labor or employment and see what they say.
I wonder if you law-and-order types ever lighten up. "He did something wrong!", "He disrupted a class!" Geez, the kid learned something cool to do with a computer, and just said "Hey!". Then again, maybe all classes just appear to be about teaching something (like computers) but in effect are there to teach everyone discipline and be-like-everyone-else-ism. Get too creative, and you're taught, effectively, never to do anything like that again. Be a good little robot. Fuck you all.
Even if you get a fine notification, they will dismiss it if you show that on the date in question your EZPass was in good standing (and registered to the car shown on the letter). I've gotten quite a few notifications and all of them dismissed.
Of course senators and reps will be able to sing "God Bless America." Supreme Court justices will be able to mention God. Bush will be able to make his decisions based on his faith
Very good point. All these people, SC Justices, Senators, Congressmen, US President are (or supposed to be) competent adults, and do whatever they do of their own choosing. A child being forced to recite something by a school, attendance in which is mandatory, is a totally different story.
One does not need to acknowledge a supreme being to express humility. It takes little more than acknowledging the existence of the universe as a whole to be humbled.
Total Perspective Vortex for every child entering our schools.
But this is kind of meaningless, especially given USA's (great, I think!) lack of coherent ethnic identity. After all, you may probably pledge allegiance to France, and think that the country of the French people transcends the Bourbons , Napoleon, the Republics, the vichy, etc. But what the hell does the country of USA mean, since it's ever-changing BY DESIGN, almost.
protect the consumer from fraud, illegal wire taps
Ah, they protect people from Herr Ashcroft and company? Well, then, I, for one, welcome our new licensing overlords.

No, we do not. We extend rights to all people, until it is proven that they are criminal (terrorist, illegal in US, etc.) at which point rights are taken away.
That's a bit harder to understand than "terrorists should have no rights", but I hope you'll manage.
Your employers set up the rules, as a good employee you should respect an abide by those rules.
You maybe should abide by them, if you want to keep your job, seeing how there are many silly rules in the world anyway, but respect is too much to ask. It's not in the contract, my friend.
Look at it from the boss's perspective - you just had to bribe an employee to stay.
That's a pretty silly perspective. "No you just had to bribe a candidate to come on board." What the hell does that mean? "You just had to bribe the pizza delivery driver to feed you."
- It is God!
How long did it take to write this post?

There are. Like Bob Barr.
The poster is a W-2 employee of his contracting agency; he may be a contractor to the client but he's an employee to the middleman, AFAIK.

Mr.President, welcome to Slashdot.

So how come you are so worked up then? :)

Banned? What?? Source, please

But by doing that you deny certain freedoms

that is, to hire who they want.
That implies a sort of right to a job that
you have over them. Why is this so?
That'd be Voter Intent Awareness :)
